Graduation Bottle of Bubbly

Hello friends!
I am always looking for ideas to gift graduates besides the
usual cash, I like to add a little something with their card.
So I came up with this idea!
Did you know that Martinelli's makes blush apple cider?
It's soooo tasty!  So I grabbed 4 of these at the store and decided
to make little caps on top.
Went from this above,
to THIS below!

Up close......

So what do you need to make these?
The yummy apple cider
black crepe paper
a brad
baker's twine
black cardstock

Cut your crepe paper at 4" long
the black square cap cut at 2 1/2" x 2 1/2"
Cut the baker's twine two pieces at 8" and fold in half
use any color brad

First thing you can do it punch a small hole in the
center of the square cap.

Now take the folded baker's twine and
lay it over the punched hole,
take the brad and push it through the hole and pull
the twine around it.

Using your adhesive put a little at the bottom
of the crepe paper and wrap around the top of the bottle
and secure the top with the adhesive.

You can see in the picture below how
I wrapped in around the top.

Your last piece is the cap that you attached
the brad and baker's twine to.
Take the square and hot glue, using just a little
bit of glue, glue it down on top.

There you have it!
How cute are these!
My plan is to add a card and cash and /or flowers to
gift to the graduates.

4th of July decor

Gearing up for the 4th which is just next week!
Found this adorable scalloped mat while I was out at Ross if you can believe it, a mere $8.99

so cute, a bit whimsical and fun.

I posted this wreath a couple of weeks ago
with the cute ribbon design.
I found this bunch of ribbon at Michael's,
the entire bunch was $4.99, much cheaper
than having to buy a half a yard of all the different ribbons to
create this.

See a pattern?
This cute scallop tray was another find at Ross, $6.99
Run, don't walk!

Got to add a little chalkboard art for the fourth.

Do you like to decorate for the 4th?

Embroidery

Well this fills my heart......
when the next generation comes to you and wants to you to teach them embroidery.  My mama heart~
I went into action!

I taught them the basic three stitches, straight stitch, satin stitch and the chain stitch.  They went straight to work and got very quiet focusing on their stitches and designs.

so focused......

The smiles say it all.....
They left with a new found love of embroidery and their projects to keep pouring into.

One of the girls went home and added the chain stitch to her book bag
on the handles, she even made the chain stitch into a flower.
I love being able to pour into the girls a love that was a part of my life growing up.  It's so important to share these long lost hobbies.
What a fun time with them!

Wedding Season!

It's wedding season!
Time to make a few wedding cards to have on hand.
These are just made with left over scraps

I used the paper from the Wildflower birthday suite.
The gingham is so cute coupled with the flowers.

Both cards are the same, just different colors,
I cut the little flowers out from a scrap piece of paper.
Do you have weddings to attend this summer?

4th of July vase decor

Happy monday!
Head to your dollar tree.
I personally had been seeking out some vintage style white
vases at Value Village or Goodwill with no avail.
Stopped by my local dollar tree and found the above white
vases, for yes, $1.25 each!
The flags are also there.....
So what did I do with them?

I put the flags into the vases for some 4th of July decor

loving this vintagy vibe....

Floral wine bouquets

Happy saturday~
I held my creative class the other night and here is one
of the items we made.
A flower wine bouquet~

I'll list the link to the little pod that you can either tie to your bottle
or use the adhesive on the back or tie it on.
I used the peonies in my yard for the guests and some other
cuts from the yard to complete the bouquet.

They started by building with the peonies first,
then just add the other filler greens and flowers to fill it up.
These should last you about 3-4 days.  if they seems like they need
water give them just a little bit.
Aren't they darling?

Father's day bag

Let's make a cute Father's day bag.
Get yourself any size kraft gift bag to do this craft.

Take your scissors and cut into the sides of the top of the bag.

Once cut slide them open as you see below....

Pop the sides out to create the shirt sleeves,
be sure to fold them down.

The bag should look like this.....

Take some ribbon of your choice and tie a necktie around
the neck of the bag, then adhere the collar down with either
tape or glue.
