Halloween is here!

Happy Halloween!
We are halloween ready over here!

We love getting our spook on and it starts in the morning and
goes til the last trick or treater has visited us
I always have a creepy dinner I make and serve
Then off trick or treating!

This year we plan on taking in a few scary movies,
I can only handle so much of those...
I've seen enough horror movies to know that any weirdo wearing a mask is never friendly!
my youngest loves to watch them so we will be handing out candy and watching scary movies

I used a bright green light bulb in one of our
bedrooms and put bats on the windows to give the
house a green glow from the outside-
it looks really creepy!

BOO to you!
Scary makeup huh?
I am ready to go out and get my
scare on!
I hope you all have a fun and safe Halloween!
Muuuuwaaahhhhh!!!!!!

I'm hungry!!!!

Halloween embroidery hoop

Made these last minute Halloween embroidery hoops
today for a get together we had.

They are simply stamped right onto white cardstock
and colored in with stampin write markers in basic gray and pumpkin pie colors.

I punched out in black the little bats and popped them up with
the dimensionals

I just tied Pumpkin Pie ribbon in a bow around the top to
finish it off.

Here's how you make them
take your cardstock and trace around the embroidery hoop
adding at least 1" to the size of the hoop.
Stamp your image

Slide the cardstock over the lower loop and put the two hoops together and tighten the screw at the top, now turn it over and trim
around the hoop
There you have it!
You can make these for Thanksgiving, Christmas etc.

Winter Woods

I know, I know!
It seems a little bit of a stretch posting Christmas cards, but
people like to get ideas early and actually start making them
early!
So here goes!

Here is a simple card to make.
Very quite easy and has the glitter WOW effect!
This new set Winter Woods is beyond gorgeous.
It boasts all the right pieces to make a natural Christmas scene or just winter scene.
I have seen so many beautiful things made with it so far on social.
This is just a basic card using Real Red cardstock, Balmy Blue and Whisper White.  The trees are inked in Basic Black and glitter up with dazzling diamonds.  All can be found in the catalog.
Hopefully this inspires you to start thinking about your Christmas cards.

Halloween Decor

Things are getting spooky over here!
I just love Halloween!
I try and use what decor I have around the house to bring everything together.  Look around your rooms and see
what you can add to your holiday decor before
heading out to shop for some.
It's surprising what you will find.

I made that subway art sign a good 8 years ago
and still love it today.  A lot of my pieces
have been given to me as gifts, I just keep adding them
to my "ghoulish" collection

I hope I have inspired you to get your home Halloween ready!
It's coming quickly!

Thanksgiving cards

I guess I forgot to write about these cards and how
they are made!
These are suppose to look like a pie on a table.
At least that was my vision.

I started by folding a standard piece of cardstock in half
This cardstock is double side with white on the inside and
crumb cake on the outside.  It is from this month's Paper Pumpkin.
If you did not receive it then take a piece of cardstock and cut it standard which is 4 1/2" 5 1/2" - then cut yourself another piece of white cardstock to stuff inside to write on cut at 4 x 5 1/4"
On the one side (brown side) I embossed the "table" with the
embossing folder called "Woodgrain"

The pie is made by first punching out in white a 2" piece of paper for the plate.
The pie crust is made by punching it out with a scallop punch,
filling is made by punching a 1 1/4" circle, I used Pumpkin Pie cardstock - cut out a slice of pie and use a dimensional to pop it up.  I used an orange sequin in the center

Circle punch 1 1/4"
# 119861 for $16.00

1 1 3/8" Scallop Circle punch

Paper Pumpkin Redo

If you received the september Paper Pumpkin kit then you got to play with all the cute bags and pieces that came in it.
I think there were 24 bags to make.
I had quite a few pieces leftover and decided to make some
little 3 x 3" cards with them.

You guys,  I literally try and use up all the things I have on hand.
That means looking through past paper pumpkin pieces that I keep in a basket and use them up.
The designer paper you see here was from a few years back.
You can use any halloween or fall type paper to make your cards
Look and see what you have on hand.

This little pumpkin is so cute!

Did you know that if you are signed up for Paper Pumpkin
you can buy any kit that is still available for almost half the price?
Say you really like one of the kits,  if you are a pumpkin member
then you can buy just the pieces minus the stamp set and ink pad
since you already have those from the first one.
You can view past kits
