Flower Bar

Happy fri-yay!
Working my way to sunday, worked on the "flower bar"
today.  Used the chalkboard I had on hand to create the
little sign as well as the cute baskets to fill with the paper
cones for guests to put their flowers in.
Tomorrow I will pick up fresh flowers for the shower for guests
to put into their cones.

The little cones are made with crumb cake cardstock that I rolled into
the cones and added the kids monogram and bows.
I adhered the cones by stapling them.

A friend of the kids designed their monogram which they
have used on their wedding invites and other items.
I bought these stickers on amazon and pressed the monogram into them.

I wish we were going to be having good weather, but
it sadly looks like it will be cloudy and rainy.
The flowers will be the bright spot along with the celebration of the
shower!
Have a great weekend!

Painted champagne bottles

Good morning!
We are all things bridal shower over here!
If you've just joined me, my youngest is getting married the end of June so we are in full swing everything weddings over here between my wedding coordinating job and her beautiful nuptials.
And if you are thinking,  I wonder if Julie is coordinating her daughter's wedding, well, I am not!
As I should not!  so I am getting to enjoy and reap all the fun
while it is being handled by another coordinator!
But the upcoming shower,  I get to host and create beauty for that so here we go!
The bride to be requested these painted champagne bottles,
very on trend for showers of all kinds right now.
I picked up the brand Chandon with the gold
and got out my acrylic paint and brushes.

As intimidating as this my look or seem it is quite fun and easy.
Using a brush you just stroke the paint inward to create the petals and leaves.  I just randomly added them around the bottles.
Luckily I have only 3 to paint.

I painted full white flowers that you see here then turned the bottle and painted half peach flowers in the empty spaces.  The rest of the bottle I filled with sage leaves.  You can't make a mistake as once you apply the paint if you don't like the look take your paper towel and wipe it off and try again.
You can also practice a few flowers on a piece of  paper before you go to the bottle.
I also used a gold ink pen to make the little centers of the flowers.
Aren't they fun?
Would you try this?

Flourish through the Word luncheon

This past saturday was out annual Flourish through the Word
women's luncheon.
It started off with some excitment, our fearless leader/mentor
Marjie Shaefer fell an hour before the conference.
Her foot swelled up and she had to be put into a wheel chair
for the luncheon.  She was such a trooper to the end
of the conference, and we hoping and praying her foot
is going to be okay.

Some of the lovelies I get to walk alongside.

Remember those 300 colored flowers I made?
They were for the luncheon.

the tables were so pretty.

I missed taking pictures of all the food, salads, fruits,
but LOOK at these desserts! Come on, there goes
eating healthly~

How beautiful are these floral sugar cookies?
Too good to eat for sure.

It was a spirit filled morning with worship, speakers,
silent auction donations and FOOD and fun!
It's our last hurrah before the summer begins
before Flourish meets back up in the fall.
If you are local and looking for a women's ministry
this is for you!
You can message me for the details.

More dry embossing

Back this saturday with another dry embossing card
with a larger heart shape.
I used a very large heart framelit.

The edges I tore a bit and then stamped the image
at the top.  Added some gold twinning.
Try this dry embossing, super fun!

Dry embossing

Happy thursday!
Let's try something new, but old that I thought I'd bring back around for fun.  Dry embossing....
To do this technique you can use any of your shaped framelits
or it you don't have any framelits you could draw a heart on paper
and cut it out to use as a template in place of the framelit.

For this project you will need the framelit shape of your choice,
a envelope and a stylus tool.

Take your envelope and slide the framelit under the closure
of the envelope. Taking the stylus tool gently trace around the
heart image to create the heart.

Like you see above here, just slowly trace around the image
Once done, you flip the envelope closure over and see the raised
heart on the envelope!
How sweet it that!

I stamped the back of the envelope with
"yay for love"
I'm using them for bridal shower and an aniversary card
that I plan to send out.
Do you like this technique? Would you try it?

Hello Baby!

Happy wednesday,
I went in search of some baby shower wrapping paper and found this colorful stripped paper.  Super cute!
So I decided I had to make a card to match it.
I looked through my paper stash and was able to
coordinate the colors!
How fun is that!

I backed the white paper with some glimmer
gold paper and then cut the colors in 1" strips.
It looks like the paper!

Now to add my favorite vintage baby stamp to the card
and it's ready to gift.

Possibly one of my favorite stamps,
this photo stamp looks so real.
I used the gold twine to tie around the card.
So precious.

Flowering Rain Boots

Bows are everywhere aren't they?
This sweet little card I made up for a friend who has
had one storm after a another and why not add the bow?

This set has been retired for some time, but
you know you can come visit my site anytime
for you to see how you can make this card or another
one similiar.  If you don't have this set, then you can
swap out the boots for another cute stamp set.

I used the aqua painter to create the shading on the boots.

Wedding season

Wedding season is under way and this weekend
was the first one of the season.
This was held at the beautiful historical Cross and Crown
church in the University District.

This beautiful historical church was transformed
into this magical venue.
So dreamy

The set-up consisted of these gorgeous spring arrangements
set at each row.  The bride also had pink bows tied from chair
to chair. The front of the stage is lined with more of the gorgeous
spring flowers.

After the ceremony the room had to be flipped over
for the reception.
It turned out beautiful!
It took a team of thirteen people to make this happen in 45 mins time!

Happy bride and her girls
Always and honor and privilege to get to coordinate
these weddings and be part of these special days.
