Mountain Life

Hello world!
That's how I felt as I climbed on top of this stump
We headed over the mountain friday and saturday to hike and take in all the fall beauty.
I'm literally standing at the bottom of the lake
Lake Cle Elum to be exact, there is a dam at the very southern tip of the lake where they let the water out slowly throughout the summer.
So much that this is what is left,
dry baron land all cracked and full of very large petrified tree trunks.

You can see in this picture by the rings in the wall bed of
the lake how slowly the water release is.
We hiked down into the lake and although this picture
doesn't look deep it was quite a hike down in.

Dan found some "antlers"
my clown......

These stumps are as tall as me! and I'm 5'8"!

It was a full weekend of adventuring with my guy

The colors were amazing yesterday
and seeing these Mule deer was the icing on
the cake!

Farmhouse Christmas Halloween

The only thing better about September is October!
Getting my spooky on by changing things up
with the Farmhouse Christmas set.
I used a sponge dauber to create the spooky sky.
I used Daffodil Delight and Concord Grape

This set is so versatile, I'm loving it!
I plan on showing you one more idea for the holidays with this set
in the next post.

Farmhouse Christmas

Feeling the lovely effects of fall here in the Pacific Northwest
Pulled out one of my fav new sets,  Farmhouse Christmas
to come up with a cozy fall card to gift.

I used the Aqua Painter for this card
The ink colors I used were Basic Gray for the roof of the house,
the shutters are Mossy Meadows and the the leaves on the trees are
Mossy Meadow as well.  The tree trunks are Crumb Cake and the pumpkins a mix of Daffodil Delight and Pumpkin Pie ink

I decided to pop the house off the card using dimensionals to
give it a 3D look.

Here is the Farmhouse Christmas stamp set
Always take a look at your stamp sets and see how you
can use them for other type cards besides what they are
intended for.  Such as this one is for Christmas, but
as you can see I turned it into a fall card.

The farmhouse Christmas Set
can be ordered alone or as a bundle
with the framelits you see here that
cuts out all the pieces that you stamp
In order to use the Framelits you need to
have a Big Shot
So the stamp set alone is

#147478 for $17.00
or the bundle #149941 for $44.00

Stitching

Anyone else love avocado toast as much as me?
I can't get enough of it.  Sometimes I add a fried egg on top too.
The recipe is super easy.  I use a toasted rustic bread sliced thin.
Then a use a whole avocado sliced up in a bowl and mix in just a little bit of red crushed pepper flakes, pepper and a dash of lemon
on top I grate some white cheddar cheese and add sea salt.
YUM!!!!! sooo stinkin good!

My sister LOVES cats!
I got my new shipment of tea towels in and thought how fun it would be to stitch on cats on a few for her.
I'm going to save these to give to her for Christmas

Using a pencil, I lightly drew the cats onto the towels
then just stitched them.
They turned out pretty good!
I think she will like them!

I'm going to have to put some kind of light material behind
the design to hide all the loose threads.
Any suggestions?

Creative Class

Happy saturday morning friends!
Yesterdar morning was creative class and it was sooo time
to bring on our fall game!
In the picutre above we made the treat boxes filled with fresh
peanut butter cookes.   The little pumpkins on top are have a clip on them and can be clipped to anything.
I found them at the Dollar Tree, they come in white, red and orange

This little guy is made with the Curvy Keepsake framelit that is used with the Big Shot machine.  I simply cut a 1/4" strip of burlap and folded it over for the hat and hot glued it on.  The crow is a bird punch from Stampin Up! We used a sponge dauber to add the cute little blushed cheeks and hand drew on the rest.
We filled the holders with chocolates

This bright orange pumpkin is the before.....
The pumpkins are from the Dollar Tree
After adding two coats of white chalk paint
 (I used Rustoleum from Lowe's)
it covered the pumpkins completely.
I went out the yard and cut a few branches for the stems.
The original stem pops right off the top, it is just adhered with a toothpick.  So it easily removes so you can add the branch.
I did use a exacto knife to carefully cut the hole just a little bit bigger to fit the new branch.
To distress the pumpkins I used Valspar Antiquing Wax
(also at Lowe's)
While you are at the Dollar Tree pick up some of their paint brushes and use it to distress the pumpkins with the wax
A little of the wax goes a looooong way!
If you don't want to buy the wax you can always purchase a very dark brown acrylic paint
(you know the small cheap paint bottles at Michael's)
as an alternative.  I just always have the antiquing wax on hand and choose to use it.

And here they are all done in all their glory!!!
Happy fall ya'll!!!

Christmas Crates

Let's get to some holiday fun!
These "crates" can be made for any holiday, I also have one to
share with you for Halloween too.

These are made with gable boxes which can be found
HERE (gable boxes)
I also used paper straws.  You can use any that match your design.
I used what I had on hand.  To attach the straws I just hot glued them inside the handle.

The cute red christmas truck is from the new catalog,
the stamp set is called Farmhouse Christmas

side view

Aren't these little characters so mischievous!
I fussy cut out the little elf and santa and glued
them directly onto the box

I glued santa right onto the box and popped up the
elf with dimensionals.
This designer series paper is called
Santa's Workshop

Each little crate is filled with Christmas candies
I tied pom pom trim on mine as that is what I had
on hand.  You can add any ribbon that matches your design

Here's how I cut the boxes.
Cut off the two sides as you see in the picture, then
assemble the box and glue the straw to the handle
The possibilities are endless!

White Pumpkins

Anyone else as excited for fall besides me?
Bring on all the flannels, cooler temperatures, leaves falling,
fall decor, etc.
I found these cute little white clip on pumpkins at the
Dollar Tree.  They come three to a package, for yes, $1.00!
They do come in other colors too, orange and red

You can see they have little clips attached to them
also notice how they are speckled too

You can imagine the possibilites, they will clip
onto about anything.  I used mine and clipped them
onto the leaf of the potted plant above
Are you beginning your fall decorating?
