St. Paddy's Day Decor

Doing a little decorating for St. Patrick's Day that I wanted to share with you.  I just loved receiving all the emails lately from you all about what I have found at the Dollar Tree and Target to create with.  Well,  here you go.... I found at the Dollar Tree these amazing little moss rocks.  The are in the pic above in the glass cansiter and below in an up close picture so you can see them beter.  Moss covered rocks, styrofoam balls and other garden art is quite a trend right now.  The moss rocks are in a bag of 8 of course for a $1.00.  I just put them inside the canister with the candle a bird and some gold coins to kinda look like blarney stones.

Spring Basket

Good afternoon all!  I found this adorable basket and thought I would give it a try.  What's so nice about it is that it is based off the the 2-4-6-8- box so you can make it a 6 x 6 or 8 x 8 or like mine a 12 x 12.  This is a very generous size basket.  I made it up for my friend Kirstin over at Paper Tree Lane.  You can find the directions here.   I filled the basked with some crumb cake colored decorative shred that I found at the craft store.  I filled it with chocolates and one of the lipstick pens and nail files I showed earlier in the month.  Here's what I used  to make it.
Recipe for cute basket:
Cardstock:  Crumb Cake, Designer Series Spice Cake Paper, Pool Party, More Mustard and Crumb Cake
Accessories: Crumb Cake Cordouroy Buttons, Hemp Twine, Sponge daubers, 1 3/4 circle punch, Corner Rounder punch, Spice Cake Designer Fabric, Heart Punch, 3 heart punch
Stamp Set: P.S. I Love You

I used the textured Crumb Cake cardstock for the basket

See how much room is in there!  I could have added more!

Here are the individual items I put in there for her.

Valentine Happenings

Been busy here this weekend getting Shaelyn's valentines and valentine box ready for her Valentine's day party.
As most of you know we have a real live peacock here at our house that toodles around between our house and our neighbor Tosha's.  Shae decided that she wanted to do Peacock valentines so she found this image and we went to town.  We used the scallop square big shot die for the outside  and the wing of the peacock is from the Bird Builder punch.   They turned out pretty cute!

She also had to make a valentine box and decided on a locker complete with a "Go Falcons" pennant!  We used a saltine cracker  box and spray painted it silver then we cut out the vents and door with an exacto knife.  The lock on the handle was made by using one large black button and then a smaller white one glued to the center.  She also printed out pictures of her favorite teen girls and glued them to the sides to look like teen posters.

Valentine peek a boo card

It's superbowl sunday!   Yes!  I love the commercials!  what you say? the game?  oh yeah forgot about that!  Today's post is a sweet simple card for you to try.  It is made by using the new Heart Framelits Dies that are compatiable with the Big Shot. Check out the pics below to give  you a visual on how to make it.

First take your envelope and open it up,  take the 3rd largest heart die and place in the center.  Now run it through the Big Shot to cut out the heart.  Once cut out take the Polka Dot embossing folder and run the envelope through the Big Shot.  The whole envelope now will be embossed with the polka dots.   Take a sheet of transparency and cut it the same size as your envelope, (mine is 4 1/4 x 5/1/2, adhere to the inside of the envelope.  Now put the envelope back together and whala you have this beautiful envelope with a heart window!
The card dimension are 5 1/2 x/ 4 1/4 scored at 1 1/2 and 5 1/2, fold it up and run the top portion thru the Big Shot using the new Adorning Accents Edgelit dies.  Cut a piece of Cherry Cobbler cardstock to fit the back side and cut along the cutout.  Now decorate with the "Take it to Heart" stamp.  The ribbon is the new Riding Hood Red Pleated Satin Ribbon

here it is how it looks after you cut it out

here it is after you have run it through the Polka Dot embossing folder and put the transparancey behind it.
