Diy wall hangings

How cute are these potholders I found at the
Dollar Tree!
They come in packs of two, both are equally cute!
Take a look below to see what I did with them.

For a full video on how to make these you can head
over to my instagram page to watch it otherwise I will
show you a short version below to follow.

To start get yourself a potholder
some wood beads,
fiberfill, some ribbon trim
and a glue gun.
This is a no-sew project.

I started by stringing onto jute 14 wood beads tying
each end with a knot.   Set it aside for later.

Now using an exacto knife, turn over
the potholder and cut a 2" line right along
the seam lightly so not to cut into the other side.

It will look like this, take your fingers and separate
the sides so that you will be able to fill the potholder
with the fiberfill

Add your fiberfill by not over stuffing the potholder,
if you over stuff it you won't be able to see the writing as
well.
Take your scissors and cut the top look off.
Now go back to the strung beads and on the back side of the
potholder hot glue the ends to the trim at the top.
Using whatever ribbon trim you chose add it to the bottom
to finish off the wall hanging.

That's it!  No sew and super easy!
Again,  if you need a step by step video you can click on
my Instagram page on the home page of my blog to follow
along on how to make it.
I will be posting it to my stories for you to view.
Enjoy!

Charcuterie Letters

Hello!
I meant to share this a week or so ago but completely forgot!
These were made up for the bridal shower I held here a few weeks back.
These are 12" paper mache' letters, they are about 4" deep.

Start with an exacto knife and cut around the letters,
once you've cut around them the tops come right
off and you will find filling inside that you will remove
and throw away.  Using either the exacto knife or scissors
cut away any loose paper or areas that look jagged.

They look like this once all cut away.....

Now comes the fun part!
Fill your letters, I've used three different kinds of crackers,
cheeses, nuts and meats.   For an added little touch I laid
fresh Rosemary and little pink flowers throughout the letters.

You could make these for any occasion.
Wouldn't they be cute filled with all kinds of fruit,
or all different candies?  The skies the limit!
I ordered my letters online at Michael's
I know Hobby Lobby has them as well.

Mountains are calling

The mountains were calling so we went,
this is one of my favorite quick get away's in
the outdoors that close to home.
Beautiful Gold Creek pond trail.

As we stood at the lake's edge and were the only ones there when
out of no where an F-18 did an amazing fly by right over our
heads very low and did a complete twirl.
Had to be an experience of a life time!

The views were just stunning with it being the spring
run off, just look at the glacier water below!

I have know this sweet soul since we were
18 and 20!
What a special time we shared hiking around the mountains!

Timeless Tropical

Hello!
I'm back with another easy card with the new
Timeless Tropical stamp set.
This one I tried to give a vintage subtle color to it.

I made the beach by cutting a piece of kraft cardstock
The plumeria was stamped in black ink first and then I water colored
the center in with Daffodil delight.

Timeless Tropical has all the things
that draws you to the islands!
Here is the flower up close so you can see
how I used the daffodil delight to color in the center.
The palm trees are colored in with Pear Pizzaz.

Timeless Tropical

Happy weekend!
This has to be my fav new stamp set in our new catalog.
I can't wait to play with it a bit more, but for mean time
here is a quick card you can make by folding your  card
in half and using black ink stamp the plumeria flower down
the side of the card.
Using your scissors but away the flower.

Here is the Timeless Tropical Stamp set

The ink colors I used were Pear Pizzazz
and Calypso Coral.
I water colored the colors in with the Aqua Painter.
I seriously am in LOVE with this set,
so stay tuned for a post overload!

I had to share the sunset the other night,
this is with no filter.....
Lavender and purple sky, it was so gorgeous!
I have never seen the sky this color before,
it was such a treat~

Bridal Shower time!

Well,  I have been absent for a few days busy with my daughter who flew into town for one of her dear friend's bridal shower that we hosted.
We wee so lucky with our weather being almost a nice 80 degrees.
We had 18 young women over outside celebrating one special young lady.   Most of the gals here were nurses and have been worked and stretched beyond what we could imagine the last 15 months.
It brought me so much joy to be able to host this shower
and bless each of them.
Here are a few pictures from the day......

all the gals came dressed in their jammies and brought
Taylor a pair of undies!

A special drink was created in honor of Taylor and her
new last name.  It was a mixture of champagne, vodka, homemade lavender syrup, fresh lemon juice and grapefruit juice.
It was fabulous!!!

We served up waffles, pancakes and bacon with fruits and
charcuterie boards filled with meats and cheeses and mixed nuts.

My daughter and her friend came up with this boho themed
shower.  Her friend built that lavender wall and we all constructed
the balloon strand and I added the "Babe's brunch"lettering.

They constructed this long table by using two stacks of
eight pallet boards.  We covered them in kraft butcher paper
and added fresh greens and grapefruits down the center, some
candles and a few bouquets of fresh flowers from my garden.

We used tableclothes on each side of the pallets to lay down
on the cement before we put the pillows down.
We ordered white pillow covers from Amazon to cover
pillow we had on hand for everyone to sit on.

What a joy and honor to get to bless
Taylor as well as all the young women
that were here to celebrate her this weekend!

Wood Bead Garlands

Let's talk wood bead garlands!
I haven't shared these gems for sometime,
and wanted you to see how they look styled differently
in your home.  You can have any style of home and these
beauties will compliment it.

I have quite a few different sizes of beads in my shop
whether you want to scatter them in your decor
or hang them around vases or jars or handles,
there's many sizes to pick from as well as choose
your own custom color!
You pick the color and I will create them for you!

In this traditional living room you can see them
sitting on top of a book on the coffee table.

Here the smaller strand is hanging off the this adorable
teapot.....

This on is just scattered on the shelf.

Look how this one is styled...... love this look!

And this last one is draped over a basket.
These are just a few ideas to get you started on how you can
add some texture with these wood beads to your decor.
I hope you find one that fits what you want to decorate!
