One in a melon

YOUR one in a  melon!
My last post I showed you the Paper Pumpkin for June called One in a Melon.  Whenever I open my fun orange box, I can't wait to see what's inside.   Sometimes I look and think creatively that I could turn it into something else.   Which is what I love to do!
So, above you can see a few cards I have made using the products received in the kit.
Below you can see all you get in the kit,  it's quite a lot of product and goes a long way.

Be sure to check back this week as I post more cards I have created with this kit.

I've used all the product that comes in the kit to make these cards.

stay tuned for more ideas!

Paper Pumpkin June 2017

JUNE PAPER PUMPKIN: ONE IN A MELON

              Paper_Pumpkin_June2017_Main

The long days of summer are here, and for some of us that can only mean one thing: more hours to spend crafting! Paper Pumpkin can go anywhere you do, so whether you’re on your way to the beach (or heading to your lounge chair in the backyard!) be sure to bring this kit with you. You’ll feel refreshed just looking at the designed paper with its watermelons, pineapples, lemons, and limes; then there’s the fun of putting together our yummy, summer-themed projects! Check out the how-to’s below.

Each One in a Melon kit comes with 6 printed card bases, 4 printed bags, 6 white envelopes, 2 sheets watercolor die-cut pieces, 2 sheets white die-cut pieces, 1 sheet laser-cut leaf stickers, 4 sheets printed cotton paper, 4 yds. pink baker’s twine, 4 green mini clothespins, 100 dimensionals, and 100 adhesive dots.

We’re pretty sure this kit will be the pine-apple of your eye (wink, wink) once you start playing with all of the elements inside! And the creative possibilities are endless. Check out the projects above for some sweet alternate ideas—like our stamped fruit slices tied to Crumb Cake envelopes and secured with White Baker’s Twine. Wouldn’t they make great gift card enclosures?
You could also fussy cut a few pineapple images from the designed paper and pop them up with dimensionals on one of the kit’s die-cut banners. For a perfect finishing touch, embellish with a pink baker’s twine bow.
Or make the Hooray card using Pool Party Cardstock and some of the fun die- and laser-cut pieces included with this month’s kit. With the sunny yellow banner as a focal point, it’s the perfect summer birthday card.

Lamp shade redux

I've been asked what my studio looks like.....
here it is,  great daylight to work and design under.
Yes,  I painted those floors!  and NO!  it is rarely this clean~!

So I have a client that I am doing a decor consult with.
We are currently redoing her studio and living room.
In her studio, she loves bright whimsical colors.  I took with me her
lampshade to do a quick and easy redux on it.   By just adding some trim to the top and bottom you can create a whimsical and colorful new shade.  Very simple and brings out the colors in the room.

I love getting to help others vision come to life.

Tomorrow is the big garage sale!
Hope to get to see or meet you all!

Things are blooming crazy!

Have you marked your calendar?
The garage sale is this coming friday, lots of great retired stamp sets, accessories and so much more!

I've been enjoying each day walking out the door to see my peonies in full bloom- finally!
They seemed to be slow to bloom this year.
I hope you enjoy these blooms as much as I do!

Every flower that blooms has to go through a lot of dirt.
a blossom can't be forced open.  Be gentle with yourself,
bloom when your bloomin' ready!

They just make me so happy!

Speaking of blooms,  it's been blooming crazy over here at my house with orders of the large gino paper flowers.

You can view how to make these babies at my earlier blog post here

Pineapple Grad Partay

So much fun celebrating my daughter Shelby's graduation from college.  She requested anything pineapple, gold and pink.
We found these super large balloons 40" on amazon, they come complete with the tassels that you attach.  Super easy to assemble.

What's a party without ice cold Margarita's!
Whenever I do events I am always on the look out for wrapping paper that I can incorporate in the decor.  For starters, it's affordable  and on trend with the latest out there,
and you usually get at least 25 sq ft of the paper.  I also sometimes line my tables with it in place of  table cloths.
I use it in many ways.  For this event I wrapped it around ball jars for the flowers and even cut out pineapples and glued them to bamboo sticks to put in the arrangements.  I also used it to create a photo op wall.  (see below)

For the flower arrangements I used hydrangea leaves, peonies that had yet to opened and fresh ferns to give the arrangements a tropical feel.   I always go to my yard and walk around first before heading to the store for flowers.
It's amazing what we have right under our noses.

See the little pineapple in the arrangement?

I also bought fresh pineapples and cut the fruit out of the bottom to use for the party.  I bought some metallic gold spray paint and painted each one of the pineapples gold and used them on the tables for decor.

The palm leaves I ordered from amazon, but I used fresh ferns from the yard for the long skinny palms.
The palm leaf napkins were also found on amazon.

Gold, pink and green leaves were her decor of choice so I used that all around.   I forgot to take pictures of the food once I got it all put out.  But I served up a meun similar to the restaurant in Scottsdale, AZ called Hula Grill.   I made hawaiian pulled pork street tacos, Hawaiian slaw and coconut rice.
For dessert we had macadamia dark choc cashews, passion fruit macrons, tropical zucchini bread and fresh choc dipped pineapple with coconut flakes!  oh my gosh were those good!

Below is the photo op wall.  I used the pineapple wrapping paper for the back drop, added the palm leaves and that caute pink party balloon.
