More monkey business

It's my little Nephew Kian's 4th birthday coming up so here is a little
quick card made just for the little man!  I used the Night of Navy, punmkin pie,
sahara sand cardstocks.  The circles are the 1 3/8 punch and chipboard 4 with
micro bead adhered to it.  Watch for my Fabulous Five post coming in the next
day or so!  xoxo

Flight of the Butterfly

Flight of the Butterfly is today's post made with the Melon Mambo
cardstock, So Saffon, Kraft and Gable Green.  I used the textured
template for the Big Shot to make the polka dot background and
also the Butterfly embosslit in all three colors. The scallop oval punch
holds the button.  I used the slot punch on each side to thread the ribbon
through.   xoxo

Mojo Monday 136

Mojo Monday sketch 136  check out today's mojo sketch!
It's round or square today!  But I'm feeling a bit square so here goes!
Yes.... more of the Sweet Pea designer paper!  the good thing about
this paper is you can get alot of different looks with the variety of
styles in it.  I'm still channeling my inner Vintage so this card
bosts alot of flowers.  The center flower I have show in the past
posts.  Very easy to make.  It is 5 scallop circles punched out and
held together with a brad.  When you have put it all together you scrunch
up each scallop to the center of the brad leaving the last one alone so
that you can attached it to the card.    Hope your all having a great monday
morning! xoxo

XL Flower Folds

Here is the cool idea Kirstin came up with
on wednesday.  She purchased these burlap
flower seed bags at the dollar spot at Target.
We took bamboo skewers and wrapped them
in the floral tape first.  Then took the Bermuda Bay
designer paper and ran it throught the XL Flower
Folds Die three times.  Twice with the Bermuda
Bay cardstock and once with chipboard. Then
take pumpkin pie and run it through the #2 circle
die.  After it is punch out take your 1 3/8 circle
punch and punch  a hole in that.  Take your treat
cups and roll up some grosgrain ribbon and put
inside the cup, we also added a cordouroy button and attached
it to the flower and then pushed the stem right down into
the burlap bag.  These make a great May day gift, teacher
appreciation, Hostess gift you name it!   xoxo

Friends

Friends.... you can never have too many of them!
I'm in serious reflection mode today, thinking of the individuals in my life that make such a huge impact on
my life daily. I am so grateful for those friends that mold my daily walk.  I met up with Kirstin yesterday
after not seeing her for probably over a month and a half!  We immediately took off right where we left
off which was so nice.  We try to meet weekly and motivate each other's stampin abilities.  Yesterday
we were to stamp but found catching up a must.  We did finally settle in and made two really cute
things.  I will post one tomorrow.  I don't know about the rest of you but I have already gotten rid of all
my so called "old"  colors and moved on to just using the upcoming ones.  Today's card is made with
certainly celery, the baja blue cardstock was run through the Big Shot with the Finail Press embossing folder,
then instead of sanding I faux sanded by using white pigment ink and a dauber.  The stamp set is 24/7 and charming.  xoxo

Mother's Day card

Boy am I s-l-ow-ly getting back to pace!
I think I'm still on vegas time!  Focus Julie focus!
Today's card is a Mom's day card, the whole reason
for going to Vegas.  I always use to go to Vegas or Reno
with my Mom when she was alive.  Last thursday the 15th of
April was her birthday and she would have been 72.  She passed away
15 yrs ago at the ripe young age of 57 of Breast Cancer. .  I don't think I ever make
Mother's day cards... but have been thinking of her since my
trip to Vegas.  I miss her daily, yet come home sometimes
from places and drop my purse down and think "oh I have
to call Mom and tell her this!" only to realize I can't do that!
So here is an attempt at a Mother's day card, very simple and
clean.  Hug your Mom's just a little bit tighter this year for me! xoxo

One little Turtle

I had to get out the new patterned paper again!  This card
is made with the same paper I used a couple of days ago
on my sweet scoop card.  The stamp set here is Very
Thankful stamp set, our SU! Ronald McDonald
house Charity set.  It will retire on June 30th, so if you
are lovin it you may want to purchase it before then.
The colors used are Old Olive, Night of Navy, White,
and Real Red.  I used the large 1 3/8th square punch for
the square punch out.  I punched it once and slightly
moved it over and punched again to make it a wider
square.  I also got out those awesome new Vintage
tags and dangled it from the ribbon with the heart
stamped on it.  Hope you like it!  xoxo

Vintage Vibe

Okay it is just amazing that I am sitting
at a car dealership having my car serviced and sitting  here posting to my blog!  Now that's
technology for you!  Gotta love it!   I think this week I am channeling my inner vintage.  I had
to show off some more bling coming out May 1st.  These are some really neat vintage tags, you
can see above, you get quite a bit in the bag.  I have taken just one and used the label from the
stamp set Charming and cut two slits, one at the top and bottom and ran the thread thru and anchored
the tag at the bottom of the card with a dimensonal.   The cardstock used is basis black, white
the ink is basic black, rose red, soft suede and going gray.  I started by just stamping all the images
all over the white cardstock then stamping on and off.  I then took a stamping sponge and added rose
red and soft suede all over the card as well.  Then stamped the label onto white cardstock added for
you.  Cut it out and cut the slits for the tag.   This is a very easy technique.  You can just play with
it,  there is no way to ruin your card, you can just keep adding until you like the look you end up with.
The stamps sets used were Charming and Always and Background Basics.   xoxo

Mojo Monday 134

Good Monday morning!  I had to get out the new patterned
designer paper again today!  I'm not kidding you,  it is
gorgeous.  Take a look at the background paper on
today's card.  It is the patterned paper that looks like
yes,  you see it!  waffle cone!  Soooo,  I took out
the new Sweet Scoops set (coming out in May too!)
and took today's Mojo sketch to make my card.
Again,  with the patterned paper I used the sponge and
sponged all over the paper with creamy caramel.
Layered it up with chocolate chip, and white.
The pretty in pink designer series paper is
from the pack called Pawsitively Prints.

New Patterned Designer Paper

Today's post is SU! new speciality patterned paper.  It will be available May 1st but
since I just got it I thought I would share it with you.
This vintage patterned paper touts glossy designs which you can magically reveal using
our Smooch Spritz, an Aqua Painter, or brayer and ink. 12 sheets of cover-weight paper:
2 each of 6 single-sided designs. Acid and lignin free. 12" x 12".  If you are wondering
what Smooch Spritz is it is a new spray that you can use on cardstock, chipboard and
such, it is also available May 1st.  I will share it with you later this week.
Below you can see the paper comes plain white and is embossed.  I have taken my
sponges and daubers and have added the color to the paper with them.  The colors
I used are Soft Suede, Blush Blossom and Cameo Coral.  Take the sponge and just
rub the colors across the paper.   You can see in the finished scrapbook page that
the embossed vines show up.  Soooo beautiful!   And easy too!
I also used the Big Shot butterfly embosslit, the leaf embosslit and the Pretties Kit.
Below there are some up close photos as well.   xoxo

Easter Blessings to all you Chicks out there!

The joyful news that He is risen does not change the contemporary world. Still before us lie work, discipline, sacrifice. But the fact of Easter gives us the spiritual power to do the work, accept the discipline, and make the sacrifice. ~Henry Knox Sherrill
Happy Easter to each and every one of you!  Enjoy the day and enjoy your families!  xoxo

Fox and Friends Kiddo cards

Good Morning!  I am stepping out of my comfort
level today.  Many of you know I have two girls so
I never even think about making little boy cards.
Well here is the day!  I decided to make a go of it.
I absolutely love the new Fox and Friends SU! stamp
set!  It is so darn cute!  So here I have used all stampin
up products to create these three cards.  The cardstock
is Sahara Sand, White, Night of Navy, the ink colors
are Old Olive, Night of Navy, Chocolate Chip and More
Mustard   The water on the whale card is made by taking your
3/4 punch and punching half holes at the top of the paper some
deeper than others to give you the waves.  I layered it up 3 times
to give it the 3D look.  I used the new scallop punch and more mustard
grosgrain ribbon,   Have a great day!    xoxo
