Birch Wood Ornaments

My Hubs and I were cutting back branches on our property which happened to be Birch trees (my fav!),  we brought them in and I had he and Shae cut them into disks for ornament making!  They drilled tiny 1/8" holes in the tops so I could hang them.
Here's what I came up with.   I really wished  at the time I had a wood burning kit.  But then went into my studio and found that our Soft Suede classic ink pad worked just fine!   The wood was still somewhat damp so when I stamped on it, it gives that feathered look of wood burning.   Aren't they awesome!  The top one I added an acorn to.  More below.......

This ones ready for the Christmas tree or gift packaging...

You can see up close how much it looks like wood burning

This one is ready to take to a hostess for Thanksgiving

I thought it would be fun to add one to a bottle of wine for Thanksgiving,  I wrapped our Burlap ribbon  at the top then stamped the turkey and gratitude from the Harvest of Thanks set right onto some very vanilla cardstock then glued it to the birch disk.  I added some crystal effects to the turkey then tied it to the bottle.

Products Used;
Cardstock- very vanilla
Ink- Classic Soft Suede
Accessories- Real Birch branches, linen thread, Taffeta Ribbon in Real Red, Basic Rhinestones, Burlap Ribbon
Stamp Sets- Harvest of Thanks - w- #131736 or c- #131739

Santa's List

Santa's List, our new vintage santa set. Love it!
I used the new Decorative Window Gift Boxes.  I created the rosette on top to look like santa's belly with belt.  When you open the box there are (4) gift tags inside just simply stamped with santa's belt at the bottom.  The new Silver ribbon it tied at the top of each tag for you to attach to any gift.

You can see how santa's belly sticks out.  The belt is made by using the two punches- Petite Curly Punch and the Little Labels punch for the center.

Halloween Vintage Owl

I held a class friday night and these are the cuties we made! They are a take on last years Vintage Crows we made. I found the sparkled pumpkins at Walmart for .99 cents and the Owl at the Dollar Tree. We hot glued the pumpkins together, then stuck the owl right into the styrofoam pumpkins.  To decorate I used our Stampin Up!  Witches Brew paper, silver glimmer brads and retired silver tinsel and a black pom pom on top of hat.
   They are just too cute!

We're celebrating Stampin' Up!'s 25th anniversary all year long, but during the week of the actual date (October 25th to be exact) we thought we should pump up the party even more. So what better way than a sale on the very products that started it all: stamps, of course!  Hurry though, this sale ends the 28th of October!!!

The Spooky Halloween Banner class has been a hit! Since I had a few kits left I thought I would make a canvas picture with the few pieces I used.   This is a 8 x 10" canvas that I painted the edges black then added our Witches Brew paper to the front then just started layering the different pieces that I like so much.
Still want to make a banner?  you can order your kit to the left of my blog......

Thanksgiving Table Treats

I love to have a treat ready at the table on Thanksgiving day.  I usually have something that I set in the center of the plate or charger.  I re-purposed an empty toilet paper roll here.  I used our beautiful new Birch paper- (it comes in the Thankful Tablescape kit), wrapped it around the roll, then took the orange strips of pre-cut paper and punched with the scallop punch and wrapped that over the roll.   I filled each birch branch with autumn foil wrapped hershey kisses.   Then take a 4 x 6 cello bag and cut it open and wrap your birch branch in it and tie off the ends with linen thread.  I added the leaves which are also in the kit.   Everything you see here to make these are in the kit, except the antique brads.
You can make more the 15+ of these!

Products Used:
Thankful Tablescape kit- #133463 for $19.95
Antique brads- #117273 for $5.95
