Peony season!

It's peony season!
Bringing some beauty to your feed today with some pics of
peonies that I grow.  I have about 10 peony bushes and they all
produce so well.  Are you interested in planting them?
If so,  there are so many varieties to choose from.
I have the light pink ones, the raspberry ones and the anemones
ones which are the white with the yellow center.

Peonies are some of my favorite blooms and are at their best for a very short time only blooming between April and June.
It's best to cut them when they are in bud form.
They may take a couple of days to open and if you find they don't open in a few days, you might find that the peony heads may have sap on them preventing them from opening.  To give them a little help, take the peony from the bouquet and hold the head under the tap of room temperature water to wash away the sap.

I like to mix my bouquets up and also cut some variegated
Hostas to add to the inside of the vase to add some color
and design to the vase.

This arrangement has the Japanese peony anemone
which has the white with slight pink and yellow in the center.

There are 33 varieties of peonies and different shades of pinks.
Head over to my Instagram feed in my stories to see step by step
guide on how to cut your peonies early and store them for later when you want to gift them or vase them when you're ready.
Just a few little tips for you to care for these beauties.

Exploring In Color: May 2023 Paper Pumpkin

Say hello to the most gorgeous colors in our Paper Pumpkin history!
                         Well,  that's my opinion anyways!

This month's kit is beyond stunning in rich color and design's.  Geared towards Father's day cards and masculine cards, they do not disappoint.

There is also an add on kit you can purchase that just has all the cards in it.  Either kit is well worth it.
Here are the cards below,  swooooon over the colors.  I haven't put mine together yet as I may also do a Sympathy card with one of them.

You've seen the orange month box,
LOOK at this month's!  gorg!!!!

The richness of the colors are amazing....

and this one.....

and if you love Yellowstone or Montana,
check out the cute buffalo.....

and last but certainly not least,
you get this sheet of cute stickers!
and what do you do with them you ask?
I have seen a lot of people adding stickers
to their water bottles of all things.
Pretty cute huh?

Alo- HA

Aloha friends and happy saturday!
No,  I am not in Hawaii but wish I were.
Bringing a little aloha saturday to you with today's card.
Start with a piece of vellum paper and cut yourself out a 2 3/4" circle.
Choose what color base cardstock you would like.
I chose a natural white.
Lay the vellum over the top of the cardstock centered
and prepare your stamp with ink.  I used Soft Suede.
The background stamp I am using is called Woodgrain,
you can use any type background I just like the look of the wood.

The reason for using the vellum paper is when you go to stamp over
the circle it enables you to get a clean image.  If you were to use
regular cardstock then the image wouldn't be clean against the paper.

Once the circle is stamped grab a brown ink pad
(I used soft suede) and grab an aqua painter.
and start to shade the woodgrain.

I stamped the flowers three times and cut them out,
also the leaves.   Use some dimensionals to pop
the flowers up.   I added some rhinestones to the center.

I also used the aqua painter on the center
in daffodil delight.
Add a little shading to the underside of the flowers,
And there you have a little bit of Aloha!

Fresh Flower card.

Happy thursday!
Let's try a new twist on a fresh card idea!
How about a fresh card flower bouquet!
What? you say?
Well, obviously you cannot mail this one.  Has to be attached to the top of your gift or given on someone's desk or hand delivered.
So cute huh?
Let's get this cards started!

Start with a piece of cardstock cut at 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"
I used a measuring mat to cut my lines on the card.
Use the mat to cut the lines on the front of the card.
This is where you cut the lines to slid the fresh flowers
into.

Use your ruler and the exacto knife.
I cut 2" between the lines which will leave enough
room for you to stamp your greeting.

This is what mine looks like after I drew the lines
and cut them with an exacto knife.
Choose your greeting and stamp it in the center,
be sure you choose a stamp that will fit inside
the cutout area.

Now push out the area you cut out so that it gives
you some room to add your flowers inside the cutout.

You can see in the above picture how much
room there is once the cut is made.

Now for the fun stuff!
I had fresh flowers given to me for Mother's day so I took a few
out of the vase to make this card.
You can use any type flowers, dried, faux or fresh.

Look how pretty they are!

I thought this would make the sweetest card to give
whether it's for a bridal shower, birthday card,
or for a co-worker.
I hope you like this idea!

Mother's Day weekend

Happy Monday!
What a fun weekend!
Mother's day photo booth at church with one of my loves,
soooo missing my Shelby girl not being here with us.

Shae suruprised me with brunch reservations at DeLille Cellars Lounge for Mother's day.  If you are local you must go!
They have champagne flights and delish food.
I ordered this amazing roasted mushroom toast that was roasted in sherry and truffle oil and had marsacapone on it.
Divine!!!  so good!
We finished off the day in the sunshine paddleboarding and playing corn hole and just hanging out in our gorgeous weather.

We also had a wedding at our church this weekend
(hence the same backdrop as Mother's day one)
Such a fun time with friends and seeing such a cute young couple commit themselves to each other.

We also had record heat with now going into our third day of
 89-90 degrees!
Hoping you all had a wonderful weekend spending time with family and friends.
Here's to the new week!

Paper Cup Redo

Good morning!
I found these paper coffee cups at Ross, they come in a package of 12 with the lids and sleeves and ALL different designs on them for
a mere $3.49!
I have also seen them at Tj Maxx for just a bit more.

Here's a fun new take on a treat holder you can make with them for any occasion.   Give your cup a gentle squish at the top in order
for you to cut the wire ring off.  Set the ring aside.

Now open the cup and begin to fold one side into the center,
then turn it around and fold the second side into the center.
Should look like the picture below.
Make sure to crease the rounded edges so that you have a clean fold.

Take your wire ring that you set aside and hold it
into the center of the cup folding one side in then the other
to hold the wire handle in place.

It will look like the picture below.....

Here it is up close,
Open it back up to add goodies to the inside of the cup.
The skies the limit!
Do you have teacher gifts to make?  You could put all kinds of fun things in the cup, socks, gift cards, candies etc.
They would be great favors for parties too.

Mine are filled with Lindor chocolates.

You could just leave your cup plain but I wanted to give it a Mother's day vibe so I went with a dahlia flower that I stamped and cut out.
Added a simple matching bow and a tag to call it good.
It would be cute to add seed packets to the cup to gift for Mother's day even or for the Teachers gifts.

Another view.....

Super cute and easy and tall enough for lots of fun things
to fill it up with!
What do you think?
