Ghostly Fun!

First off,  can we just get a little excited about ALL the cute ghost trending again this year for Halloween?  They are adorable!
I have seen alot of the Halloween ghost decor in pink this year too.
Not a big fan of the pink, tend to lean into the neutrals, but if I were younger I might.
Anyway, ode to the ghost,  this paper is sadly retired but I couldn't resist to bring it out of the vault.

If you don't have the paper you can use the layout of this card and hand cut a ghost or check in your stash to see if you have another ghost to use.  This layout is super easy and can be adapted to any card type.

Have you started to make Halloween cards or decoarated?
Love to hear what you're doing.

Bats Galore!

Happy thursday!
I was up in our sweet town of Snohomish and came across one of the shops called Edit where they had decorated the entire outside wall with bats, these ones were the plastic ones to withstand the weather.
They create such a huge impact don't they?

So I thought it would be fun to share a few ideas for you to be inspired by to add some bats around your home whether that is inside or out.
You can purchase the plastic or paper bats on Amazon.
Below are just a few that I found on Pinterest that I thought were easy
additions to our homes.

You can add them anywhere in your home.
Adding just a few or a whole pack.

The above one would be easy and you could cut out the bats
making them a bit bigger than the smaller ones like below.

I like the one above with just a few stuck onto a cutting board,
or below with just a few scattered around the wreath.
I will be putting up my Halloween decor tomorrow and the next day and will be adding my bats so stay tuned to see where I add mine
around my home.

Shabby Chic pumpkin

Happy tuesday!
Before we get started let's get a good laugh in,
I hung this pumpkin on the front door to take a picture
to share and noticed right away it looks like I have a pumpkin
head!   Hahahaa!

Here's what we created,
Have you heard of coco liners?
They are the inserts you put into outdoor
pots for planting flowers.
That is what we used to make these pumpkins.

These are coco liners, you can find them
HERE- Coco Liners

We added some stamped tags, on one side
it says October 31st and the reverse side
it says "so grateful" so you can use it from one
holiday to the next.

We started with the coco liner and three strips of jute that we glued with hot glue then painted the whole thing orange.
Using a glue gun we cut three strips of jute and glued
them to the liner before we painted the pumpkin.
After that we took a regular sized brown paper bag
and twisted it for the stem.  Once you get it all twisted
decide the length you like and cut down to size.
Glue it directly onto the top of your pumpkin.
Take some spanish moss and add some to the top
around the stem.

This is looking down on it as we worked away.
You can add some green leaves around the moss.

You can see everyone working away painting their
pumpkins.   We used acrylic paint and sponge brushes
rubbing lightly onto the liners to cover them with the paint.

Note: we covered the back by cutting cardboard
pieces from Amazon orders I had in the garage.
Use what you have!
You can do this by first tracing your pumpkin liner onto the cardboard
and cutting it out.  Use your glue gun to adhere the cardboard to the pumpkin.   We also painted the back although you don't have too.
Use some of your jute to create a loop to glue to the back so hang your pumpkin.
Let me know what you think!!

Ghostly fun!

Halloween's a comin'!
Time to get my "sheet" together!  baahaaaa!
No seriously,  here is an inexpensive fun halloween
craft for you to try.

Head on over to your local Dollar Tree to grab a few of these
items.  First off you will need to get a metal paper towel holder,
one of these ghosts and some small pumpkins.

Open up the ghost and dissect the cloth from the foam piece which is
the ghost figure.  Take the figure and using packing tape, tape it to the paper towel holder. as you see in the photo.

It should look like this, bend the arms to how you want them
to look.   Fold the fabric in half so that the eyes and mouth are hidden
in the back of the material.
Lay your cloth over the top of the body form making sure in the back to glue together the fabric to hide the printed eyes on the cloth.

Once the cloth is over the foam you can bend the arms to have
them look how you'd like it to look.
I added the pumpkin and glued it right onto the cloth.
Use some black felt to cut out some round circles for the eyes.
Glue them using a glue gun directly onto the cloth.
And there you have it!!
One cute ghost!

Fall Vignette

Happy thursday!
Wow! The week has gotten away with me.
I was able to put together some fall decor on my table
before I had a creative class yesterday,  it's been THAT busy.

I found these beautiful "picks" which are dried flowers sold
at stores,  these I found at Hobby Lobby.
Reasonably priced at $3.99 a pick

The pick I chose has the pumpkin attached and all the dried goods too.
I also picked up some leaves to scatter around the table.
The candle sticks and led lights were found at Home Goods.

The dried grass is from my yard.
Last year I was cutting my zebra grass back and threw
the stems into the garage only to find them a week later.
The seeds had sprouted into these gorgeous plumes!
So now I have been cutting them and drying them for decor use.
What an amazing find!

Tricks and Treats

Time for some Tricks and Treats!
How about we try some Halloween treats for you to make.
I picked up a package of double stuff oreos, you can also
find single packages or oreos too.  I know some of the preschools and schools in our area don't allow treats that have been homemade and only allow treats that have been bought and individually wrapped.
So you will need just one cookie per treat.
Start with some cello (i found mine at the Dollar Tree)

Wrap up each of your cookies and for the prepackaged
ones still cover them as well........

Once you have tied the ends off prepare to add the stamped
Stamp the cute Halloween faces on separate pieces of paper,
cut them out.  I used the basic gray stamp pad for the vampire head

I used googlie eyes and pink chalk to give them some rosy cheeks.
Use stampin dimensioans   Super cute wouldn't you say?
The haunted house also comes in this set and looks cute
 decorated.

You can view the stamp set here  HERE

Give these a try and send me your pictures!

Autumn is here

Hello and happy monday!
It's really beginning to feel like autumn here.
The colors are changing and the crisp air in the evenings and
mornings are feeling brisk.
The paper on this card is from a pack of 6 x 6".
Each piece is double sided and is of photograph quality.
On one side there is a photograph image and on the reverse side it is a metallic modern design.
I will share some more of the paper in the next post, so stay tuned for some gorgeous paper reveal!

With this paper being so pretty you really don't need to do much to create a beautiful yet simplistic card.  I add some daffodil delight paper behind the greeting.  Very simple yet a wow factor.

White Pumpkins

Happy Saturday!
I found these cute little white ceramic pumpkins
at Michael's. So cute and fallish.
I picked up 10 of them to be able to gift at my women's group which is preparing to start up in the next few weeks.

So I got on Pinterest to find an image with a verse to attach to these pumpkins.   I found the one above and the neat thing is that you can find these images that are freebies to print out.

These ceramic pumpkins are small therefore
the little card attachment should be small.
I cut them at 2 1/4" x 3 3/4" and tucked them
right up under the stem of the top portion of the
pumpkin.

I love the fall colors of the image.

Below are all the ones I put together to gift.
I hope you go grab some pumpkins before they are all gone.
Run don't walk!
