Reindeer Ornament

Let me show you an adorable and affordable little ornament you can easily make.
I found this very cute reindeer head at the dollar tree
and the wood whitewashed round wood ornament
at Michael's also a dollar.

All you need to do for this diy is use your glue gun to attach the deer head to the front of the wood ornament.

I mean look at the details on this deer head!

How cute is this?
Again,  ideas for you to make for your friends, co-workers, families, etc.....
This looks like an ornament that costs more than $2.00!
Head out and get yourselves some deer heads!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving to you all!
Let me encourage you to get up every day and focus on what you do have in life.
Be Thankful for the blessings of the little things, even when you don't get what you expect.
We can all find things to be thankful for, for me it's just the breathe I breath.  For each new day is a gift and our breath is a gift.
I hope you are crowding around your tables with one another or enjoying your day doing what your heart calls you to do.

Sharing my Thanksgiving table with you.
A little tip:
I usually set my table at least 2 days in advance if possible,
it cuts down on what I have to do the day of.
This year..... epic fail,  had to work and put it all together
last night.

For a quick table centerpiece I went to Safeway and picked
up some eucalyptus seeded greens and ran them down the center of the table with three wine glasses I had on hand and added a couple of white pumpkins.  DONE!

What would a table be without chocolate?
I found these chocolate turkeys at Trader Joes, so cute
and I am sure going to be tasty!

We usually host a full house, but this year we have an intimate eight coming.
Here's to you and your families, wishing you all wonderful day~

Rosemary Wreaths

I have shared most recently some ways to use fresh rosemary for
some diy projects.
Here is another one.....
Mind you,  I have three very large rosemary bushes so I just keep clipping away.
I thought I would try and make a fresh rosemary wreath,
turned out to be quite easy.

The smell is amazing!
I keep walking up to the door and just taking in
the lovely scent....

To start I went to the Dollar Tree to pick up this wired
wreath and some floral wire.  Both a $1 each.

Next I went out to the garden and cut a basket full of
rosemary.  I went back a second time for a little more,
but for the most part it didn't take that much of rosemary.
Once you have them cut, take 5 stems and using your wire
wrap the wire around the bottom leaving enough at each
end for you to be able to wired it around the wreath base.

Just keep adding your bunches of 5 sprigs.  You can see how
it fills up the wired wreath.  Once you cover the whole wired
wreath, stand back and make sure you have enough sprigs
on wreath.  If you feel you need to add more then just layer them and continue to keep using the wire to attach them.

This by far was so much easier than I expected.
These wreaths will last for months, most likely drying out
and collecting dust over time therefore you may need
to make a new one each year.
So pretty and great for gift giving.

Sip and Shop

Are you local and looking for a little holiday cheer
                                and shopping experience?
I will be at WIT Cellars this
sunday for their Sip and Shop with other vendors with many things
for you to start your holiday shopping.  Come see me and see what else I will have to choose from.

Here's just a quick little peek...
Heading to someone's house for Thanksgiving or upcoming
other holiday parties?
Add one of my kitchen towels  and grab a bottle
of wine to complete a perfect hostess gift.

Another little fun item I will have are the
wine bottle tassels that you can see on the
neck of the bottle above.
Great to add to the bottle of wine to take to a
dinner or gift someone.
I will have many other items available,
these are just a few.
Hope to see you there!

Rosemary

Do you have rosemary growing in your garden?
I have sooooo much rosemary, three HUGE bushes of it.

At my last two classes I held I decided to cut baskets full of the super aromatic herb and show how to make the above mini wreaths to use on your holiday tables or to use atop your christmas gifts.

I love the minimal look it lends to the table or your presents,
and the smell, oh the smell!

So I decided to show you just a few more little ways
you can adorn other items with rosemary......
How about around a candle?

Here's another sweet way to add to tabledecor,
wrap it around your napkin and add a tag and baker's twine

All you need to do here is bunch it together add some
twine and attach on top of the gift

Add some cinnamon sticks for an added punch of a scent
with the rosemary and cute little laser cut wood pieces, it can
be any word you choose and I have see both wood and metal
ones at the Dollar Tree making it affordable to do many packages.

Need a centerpiece in a snap?
Grab a clear glass cylinder, (any size will do)
a candle and fresh rosemary.  Set the candle inside
the glass cylinder and then gently add the rosemary
down the sides.  So simple yet beautiful.

If you don't have fresh rosemary in your garden you can get bunches of it at the grocery store in the produce section.
You can also use any other herb as well, sage would be great too!
Have fun trying out adding fresh herbs to your holiday decor or tables!

Creative Weekend Retreat

The last two days have been spent in the mountains with a group of creative women making some of the amazing fused glass creations.
I've shown and talked about this place before and love to go and create there. It's called Fused

You basically arrive and start to create and plan out your glass creation.  Some of us made ornaments and some beautiful trays.

You can see in this photo where we drew with sharpie pens to
see where to cut the glass.  Once these are fired in the kiln
the black ink disappears.  These will be angel wing ornaments.

This little cutie is "olaf"  well,  he looks like it to me!

You can plan out and make almost anything!

This is one of the beautiful trays made....
It's hard to see the glitter within the glass but boy
is it gorgeous.

This is the studio where we get to create.
So much goodness and beauty here.

JOY Candles

I love to find finds at the Dollar Tree and alter them.
These red JOY ball jars are so pretty just by themselves,
but of course I had to add something to them.
The boxwood sprigs I found in the dollar spot at Target.

You can see in this picture the J to the left and the O is a snowflake, it's hard to get a shot of it all together.

I simply added some very thin jute around the neck of the
candle and then tucked the boxwood greens right through the
jute. To give it some sparkle I added the chunky glitter.

It almost looks like sugar, but it's the very thick like glitter.

How pretty is this redo?
I love how it glows once lit.
These would make great gifts for your co-workers, teachers,
friends you name it!
