Swirly Bird

More birds return with another late night creation.
I double punched out the wreath and popped it up to give
it that full effect.  Each piece is punched out with a coordinating framelit.  So you can purchase this stamp set and a matching framelit set to punch out all the pieces instead of fussy cutting them..  NICE!

Best Birds

I have been loving waking up to the sounds of the birds chirping and the flowers starting to bloom.  Spring is in the air~!
I went over to my BFF's friday night to do a little stamping, she had this adorable stamp set that I have yet to purchase.  The little bird spoke to me and reminded me of the book "Are you my Mother".

To water color the bird, I used the Aqua Painter and some Pool Party ink and So Saffron ink.

Succulent egg garden

Try this fun and easy succulent garden.  I used real brown eggs.  When I was making breakfast I carefully took the top of a kitchen knife and tapped the top of the egg to create a small hole, then I peeled back the shell to give it that crocked look.
Fill the inside of the egg with just a little bit of potting soil.
I added chicks and hens succulents from my garden.  If you don't have any growing they can be found at your local nursery.

The egg cartons are just the ones the eggs come in from the grocery store that I cut down to a four size.
Super easy and oh so caute!!!!

Getting ready for Easter around here.  That means decorating!
Here are a few of my favorite Rae Dunn Easter pieces.
I'll post some more ideas as I put more up this weekend.
Get "crackin" on your succulent garden!

Mini Egg cartons

Little mini egg cartons all decorated and ready to fill will treats.
We sell these cute little egg carton right now in our Occasions mini catalog, but unfortunately they are sold out at this time.
They have four spots in them to fill up with treats or plastic eggs and grass.  I wrapped a belly band around these and adhered it with scotch tape and then tied a raffia ribbon around it and added the bunny tag.

The bunny tag is a 4" x 2" piece of blushing bride cardstock that I punched out with our tag punch.   I used a polka dot gold  vellum overlay and added the bunny to the top with the flower punch as his tail.

Even the plastic egg with fit in here!  All the items you see are inside it once closed.  It holds a good amount.

Bunny Napkins

Let's make some bunny napkins!
Just in time for your Easter table!
Find yourself some cotton napkins, either printed or plain.
You can always make these out of paper napkins too.
The instructions are below.  Once you have folded your bunny you then tie a ribbon around it and add a pom pom to it.

Here's mine all done.....

Here are a few more samples of some others

Follow the directions below......

Bunny Jar

At my creative class last friday this is one of the projects we made.
Aren't they adorable!  These are made by purchasing ball jars and these plaster of paris bunnies from the Dollar Tree.  They are in the Easter section and come packaged with paint and a paint brush.

I used a glue gun to attach the lids together and then used E6000 glue to attach the bunnies to the top of the lid.   Then I spray painted them, the color I used is called Robin's Egg Blue.
Add some cute jelly beans and some raffia ribbon.

Butterflies Framelit

Back to our regularly scheduled color combo of crumb cake, blushing bride and soft sky.  I LOVE these colors right now!
Blushing Bride, Crumb Cake and Soft Sky- Gahhhh!

I used the Butterflies Framelit to cut out the butterfly from glimmer paper.  You can see how shimmery the paper is.  Soo gorg!
The background is the Hardware stamp with Basic Gray ink.

Bunny Bums 3!

I found these cute bag of Dove Bunnies and Chicks at Target and thought what a great idea it would be to make them up for a treat for co-workers or kiddo treats for school or to put on plates for Easter sunday dinner.

Here's what they look like- chicks and bunnies!

I used only the bunnies and added white with gold bunny bums to them.  Seriously as simple as that!
I used tombow adhesive to attach them to the candy.

I found the white and gold pom poms at Michael's craft store.

Flower Patch

It's baaaack!  more Flower Patch with my fav new color combo
I showed you the collage card on my last post.  This card base is made just the same way but has an vellum overlay that I attached with just a hint of adhesive snail in the corners.  I also stamped in gold on top of the vellum.
The sentiment also comes in the stamp set.   Add some gold threading taped to the back of the sentiment.  The gold threading is sometimes slippery to work with, so taping it makes it easier to handle and attach to the card.

Last night while running errands my daughter and I decided we needed a little monday night treat.  What a better way to end a monday with a trip to LadyYum a local macron and spirits shop.
Look at all those colored macrons!  They have so many flavors; coconut, lavendar, irish guiness creme, raspberry chardonnay just to name a few.   And what a cute quaint place! and the macrons....delish!!!
It's located in downtown Kirkland

Flower Patch

Have you ever tried to collage your paper and create your own designer background paper?
I love to do this. I doesn't take much to create this look.  I used the Flower Patch stamp set.  You begin by stamping the flowers all over the piece of cardstock.   I also used the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set to create the splatter dots all over the card when I finished.
Inks used:  Blushing Bride, Soft Sky and Sahara Sand
The Flower Patch set also has a coordinating framelit pack to cut out the pieces like you see below (the flower) so you don't have to fussy cut out pieces for your cards.  Nice eh?

You are so awesome I know you can create one of these cards!

Butterfly Thinlits

Today's card shows you how easy it is to make a quick birthday card.  I always say,  if it takes longer than 10 minutes to make,
 you better to go Hallmark!

You can see up close how the colors I added all melt together.
In the picture below I have cut out a piece of white cardstock at 4 x 5 1/4".  Once cut I used the butterfly framelit to cut it out of the center top of the cardstock.  Make sure you save the butterfly that you cut out.  Now cut a base piece of paper 5 1/2" x 8" and fold as your base card piece.  Lay the piece of white paper that has the butterfly cut out of it and lightly trace in pencil the butterfly so that you can see where you will add the ink color.
You can see in the photo on the left that I used the Aqua Painter to add the ink to the paper.   I first started at the bottom and used the Pink Pirouette, then the Sahara Sand, then the Soft Sky ink.
  Let dry
Then take the cut out butterfly and gule just the body of the butterfly and place over the top of the water colored butterfly.
I finished the card off by adding a gold brad and some white and gold baker's twine.
