Rainbow Pinwheel Sugar Cookies

Since it was pouring rain again yesterday, Shae and I decided to make these cute Rainbow Pinwheel  cookies. Here's the ingredients and recipe:
1 package of Betty Crocker Sugar Mix
Sprinkles

Directions

  1. 1Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. 2For rainbow pinwheels, divide dough evenly into five bowls, and color each with a different color liquid food coloring. (We used McCormick Neon shades in pink, green, blue and purple, as well as the yellow from the standard pack).
  3. 3Roll each color dough into 14 grape-sized balls.
  4. 4Combine a ball of each color and quickly roll into a larger ball. It will look like a little beachball.
  5. 5Then roll that ball between your hands and the counter or cutting board until you have a cylinder about 6 inches long.
  6. 6Starting from one end of the cylinder, roll the dough into a coil, twisting the cylinder as you go.
  7. 7Roll edges of the cookie in sprinkles.
  8. 8Repeat with remaining cookies.
  9. 9Bake the cookies for 10 to 11 minutes, or until done (fully done middle with the barest touch of golden brown on the edges).
  10. Then Eat!   yumo!

More Business Shares

Don't you just love this card?  This is the Herringbone Technique that was demonstrated  at Leadership Conference in January.  Cami Eastwood shared these four cards with us at the Business share meeting on saturday.  This technique is a great way to use up your DSP scraps,  and the key to holding it all together is the Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets, they come in a package of 12 - 12x 12 that you can cut down to any size.  #120805 for $14.95, you can order them to the right of my blog
You can find the tutorial at Spiltcoast Stamper  here

Love you

Okay,  I  stepped away from the Storytime today just for a brief moment to stamp something a bit more spring/summery.  I used the new  Chevron Embossing folder # 127749 - $7.95.  You are gonna love it!  Look at how it looks with just a portion of the card embossed.  Love it!  The flower is made with the new Polka Dot Parade Designer Series Paper.  I used the Fun flowers Big Shot Die for the flower and added the glitzy new Vintage Faceted Designer Buttons for the center with the Linen Thread.  Also incorporated the new Paper Piercing Pack Essnetials around the Adorning Accents Framelits which coordinate with the Paper Piercer.

Cardstock:  Bashful Blue, Whisper White, Polka Dot Parade
Ink:  Basic Black
Stamp Set:  Itty Bitty Banners
Accessories:  Fun Flowers Big Shot Die, Linen Thread, Adorning Accents Edgelits, Paper Piercing Essentials, Chevron embossing folder, Vintage Faceted Designer Buttons

Storytime Vintage Book Strap

So I was trying to go for the ole' vintage book strap here,  hmmm.. well I tried.  Anywho,  my idea was to make a book strap and wrap it around a stack of 3 x 3 notecards to give as teachers gifts.  And of course, you guessed it!  "Storytime" again!  The strap is made out of Chocolate Chip cardstock, some brads and the vintage brads, uniglo pen and a 1/8' inch punch.

Here are the cards I made out of the Storytime Designer series paper, quite easy and super cute!  stacked them all up and wrapped them with the Vintage book strap.  Hope you like it!

Storytime Purse

Love Love Lovin this DSP!  Storytime it is on my desk,  I keep reaching for some of the other new paper to create with and it's always back to Storytime.  So here you go a oldie but goodie.  I used the purse pattern from Splitcoast to create this purse.  To make the tag I used the Decorative Label punch, one in Wild Wasabi turned one way the other Whisper White turned the other.  The girl I cut out of the paper and the "For You'  is from the new stamp set "Itty Bitty Banners"
The handle is a 1/'2 'x 8' piece of real red carstock attached with the Vintage Brads.  The tag is hung with the Linen Thread.

Father's Day Box

Here's a fun box you can make for Father's Day,  the box is quite  big and will hold treats or a tie, etc.....
I found the box on Splitcoast under Gallery.  The box is called a A2  box, very easy to make I promise!
How do you like the paper I chose to make my box with?  Isn't it just fabulous!  Check out below the different sheets you get when you order it.  It is called Natural Compostion Specialty paper.  # 126917  - $12.95
I apologize for the ribbon,  I know it has been retired but I could not find a thick ribbon in the new catalog to create the tie.  I actually had to have my Hubs show me how to tie the tie.  I used the Antique Brads for the tie pin.

This paper is a very heavy paper,  great for boxes and such,  you can see you get  five different designs to creat with.  The texture of the paper is an embossed image.  You will not be disappointed!

Faux Burlap decorated Vase

Hi all,  I had a fun weekend yet busy, like most of you.  Saturday I went to a barbeque and needed a  hostess gift to take, so I thought flowers would be nice.  Well,  I also wanted to put them in a vase.  So I took out this vase I purchased at the Dollar Tree and came up with this idea.  Jute vases are all the rage so I thought I would try one.  The directions are posted below on how to make this.  The flower is suppose to be a faux burlap one.

Here is the vase with the flowers in it.

Start with a clean vase.  Decide where you want to put the jute then take Alene's tacky glue and  apply it to the area .Start wrapping the jute around till you get the desired thickness.  Set aside and let dry.

Now take your Big Shot out and the Lattice Square embossing folder and the Fun Flowers die and cut out the flowers first then run them throught with the Square Lattice embossing folder.

should look like this.....

I used the Antique brads for the center of the flower, now start in the center and scrunch each petal to the center of the flower.  Should look like the flower below.  Once you have it made use a few glue dots to attached to the front of the vase.  Have fun trying this!  :)

Spring Bouquet

I love this time of year when all my flowers in my yard start to come alive.  This bunch is of my all time favorite flower Peonies, I also added Snowballs from another fav of mine,  the Snowball bush.  I love this chicken wire wrapped vase I found at TJ Maxx,  so shabby!  I decided to add a little Stampin Up! to it by using the new Apothecary Accents framelit and Layered Labels stamp to create this  little sign poking out of the top of the bouquet. (Aren't you just lovin the new catalog!)   I used Soft Suede ink and some Jewels- Basic Pearls to decorate it.  Attach it to a bamboo skewer and there you have it!

So romantical!  love this shade of pink

Not the best up close up , but you can see the sign there with striped pretty in pink ribbon.

Here is a better one,  see stamping isn't just for cards!
