Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas from our house to yours!
The older your kids get the harder it is to get all the
peeps in one place at the same time for photos,
so this year it's a digital Christmas card to share with you.

Hangin' with these hooligan's!

My sister's and one of my daughter's on Christmas evening.

The four of us sisters with one missing (Dianne)
Wishing you all a beautiful season that's merry and
bright with the light of God's love.

Brown bag wine tasting party

We thought we'd try a new tradition!
Since the girls are older and their friends too, we thought it would be fun to have a brown bag wine tasting party complete with appetizers and games.
It was a lot of fun!
We had 7 bottles of wine, all reds, we brown bagged them and numbered them.  Each person poured a tasting to try and guess what type of red wine it was and also if they liked it.
We all were stumped on so many of them!
You think you know your wines and then,  NOPE

Reindeer squad....
We all had antlers and red noses.

These two were "dolfin' around.

So much yummy food!
This will definitely something we plan annually.
We even incorporated some games too.
It was so good to get together and see each other.
I was also going to share you could do both a wine
or cider tasting too. We ended up with just tasting red wines.
So much fun and such a great group of girls

Annual Christmas Luncheon

This is always the highlight of the holiday season!
I have lost count of how many years we have been doing this.
But we all have been friends wayyyy before kids, so these girls
have all grown up together.
I think we started this tradition over 20 years ago as our oldest in the group is now 26!
And although we have had to say goodbye to one family (Susan)
who moved to Arizona we have been able to continue on celebrating
the season together.

The girls- we were missing Amy and Erica sadly...
ages 16-26 now!

The mama's .....
Our day always consist of lunch, minute to win it games,
ornament exchange and of course, lots of photos!
Do you have annual traditions you share with long time friends?
I always love hearing what they might be!

Ho! Ho! Ho!

Diy Wood bead signs

Happy saturday friends!
It's one week away!
are you ready?
I am not, but enjoying everyday of the preparations and
just enjoying time with friends and family.
I was out shopping and of course found these cute little wood bead frames at the Dollar Tree.
You really can find some really nice things there, but then are times
when the products, not so nice.  But this one is cute!
And even if I didn't give it a creative overhaul, it would be cute!

And here it is redone.
All is did was measure the frame and cut paper from the beautiful
designer paper called Peaceful Cabin.
The paper is cut at 5 x 5" and then the cabin and tree are
fussy cut out and raised with 3d dimensionals.
I also stamped a banner and added that to the top of the frame.
This couldn't be easier!
I added some glitter to the snow on the roof and trees.

Here's another one I made with one another stamp set
that has retired.  Don't be afraid to use what you already have,
these are just a few ideas for your mind to get creative with.

This one I made to look more like chalkboard art.
I stamped the image and then used white embossing powder
to made the image pop.   This frame is just a little bit different,
also from the Dollar Tree but no wood beads on this one.
I just added some buffalo plaid ribbon and berries.
Both found there too.
Merry happy creating!

Diy Santa Ornament

Ho! Ho! Ho!
How about an easy Santa diy ornament?
These are a fun little project to do with the kiddos.

Some supplies you will need;
Plastic or glass clear ornaments, faux snow flakes,
glitter, some stamps (I used a Santa) you could use
any type of holiday image.  Some chunky glitter

The ornament is chose is a 3" size so I used a
circle punch that is sized at 2 1/2"
Stamp your image in black ink and then roll your circle lightly
to fit into the ornament.  Look below...

Once you have it inside the ornament you can use a pencil
or bone folder to flatten it out.

Once it's flatten out use about 3 pinches of faux
snow inside and then add the chunky glitter
with a funnel.

Put just enough snow to the bottom level of your image.

This is the glitter I used.
Recap the top of the ornament and there you have it!
I also added a little tag that I hot glued to the underside
of the lid of the ornament.

A lot of these projects are from my creative classes.
Hope you enjoy making them~
