Washi Tape

I know you just can't wait for the new catalog to come out so you can order this fun set of washi tape called Pop of Pink
This card is so fun and easy to make.  Cut your base card and add three to four strips of washi tape.  Then  cut a 2"x 3 1/4" piece of white cardstock.  Then cut the color you want to use behind the white.  I used Melon Mambo.  Cut it 2 1/4" x 3 1/2", now attach them with adhesive.  Take the butterfly punch and punch out your butterfly.  Add some dimensionals to the back and attach on top of the washi tape.   Add a stamped message and there you go!

Weekend Retreat

I told you all I was away for the weekend and boy was it a creative weekend!   We went away to Camano Island and enjoyed having Stephanie Ackerman as our creative guru!
You can check out Stephanie's work Here
She brought so many things for us to create so I wanted to show them to you.  We created away each day busy as ever and were able to make quite a few things.

These are the wooden tags we made using mixed media layering

She also had us stitching,(embroidery) look at the adorable fabric we added threads to.

This is a sampling of a few different ones a few of us made.

She then handed out plain canvas bags for us to paint.  Above and  below are the two that I hand painted.  SOOO much fun!

We had to have some more fun by going to the beach.
Selfie with creatives!

Beach-combing

What's a beach without finding a crab!

and last but not least, always searching for heart-shaped rocks.
Success!

Chicks and Hens

Happy saturday morning!
I am away this weekend at a women's creative retreat.
I made these succulent candle's for the hostesses and wanted to share them with you.
So fun and easy to make.
I purchased two 4" clay pots and one very small succulent $3.49.
I used the chicks and hens succulents from my garden.
You also need 2 clear glass votives and two small votive candles and dirt or potting soil and some small rocks (maybe a handful).  Start by dry brushing your clay pots with a creme or vanilla colored acrylic paint and let dry.

Fill your pots with a small amount of rocks, then add your dirt to fill almost to the top of pot as you see above.

This is what my pot looks like when dry brushed.

Now set your clear votive in the center and start to add the succulents.
I started with the chicks and hens and then added the smaller one (they look like peas to me!)

I added some spanish moss around the areas that had openings.  This is optional,  I just happened to have some and decided to add it.   Then when it was all done I added the chalkboard stick and packed them up.

All ready to gift!

In Colors

For this set of cards I first stamped the 'in colors" on natural cardstock with the Hardware stamps. and then stamped the butterflies onto the colored cardstock,  I used the retired Dahlia flower buttons for the center.  I really try and show you some retired items you have bought and can use for your cards.

Butterfly Basics

Butterfly cards are getting the best of me lately.  I just keep making them!   This one is made with the Hardwood background stamp and then using the Butterfly framelit to create the pool party and vellum butterfly.

I was out in the rather rainy yard today and noticed my peonies had bloomed.  I believe this is the japanese peony. Just wanted to share a little natural beauty today with all the gray clouds looming overhead.

I am back!  I have been out of town visiting friends in Vegas since wednesday.   I am back to the PNW and freezing!  When we left yesterday it was 100 degrees, here in Washington it is a mere 56 degrees.  Not to mention I got up at the crack of dawn to do the AHA Color Run and boy did it even feel colder at that hour!

Here is a card that was inspired by a card in our new catalog.
Yes! new catty is coming and just around YOUR corner~
 bet you can't wait!
 New products, stamps and accessories!
This set is an oldie but a goodie,  Papillon Potpourri
I used watercolor paper and Aqua watercolor pens to create the watercolor effect with Pool party ink, Daffodil Delight and Calyspo Coral

Butterfly Basics

Sharing a little Butterfly Basics card today.
Products Used:
Cardstock- Whisper White, Crumb Cake Lost Lagoon
Ink- Crumb Cake, Lost Lagoon, Pool Party
Stamp Set-  Butterfly Basics

Sharing a few pics from the event I decorated for.  It was the Flourish and Shine Women's conference.  The theme was Flourish and Shine in your world.  This was the Praise wall.  You could come and write a praise or whatever was on your heart and clip it to the wall.  By the days end, we had many cards clipped up.

This was some of the decor around the event.

I painted globes with chalkboard paint and hand lettered the conference theme.  Such and honor and pleasure to take on this event.
