Double Digits

Butterlies Thinlit

Get out your washi tape, your Butterflies Thinlits some paper and let's get a little creative!   This card is made by folding your paper in half then cutting out with the Big Shot and the use of the Butterflies Thinlit  large butterfly.  I always use wax paper on top of the paper I am going to be cutting to make the small details of the butterfly or any other detailed thinlit as they cut easier.   

Once you have cut out the large butterfly from the card.  Then take a piece of vellum cardstock and cut another butterfly.  Set aside.

Take out washi tape of your choice.  I also used our silver sparkle paper with the washi tape to give it a little shine.  Add the tape and paper diagonally to a separate piece of paper cute at 4 x 5 1/4", then trim the ends and and glue to the back side of the card.

Glue your vellum butterfly to card, add some sequins and a birthday stamp.

Bunny Basket

Getting some last minute details and things made around here for Easter.  This is one of our die cuts, Berry Basket that I made to hold these chocolate bunny dipped cookies to slide in.  I scrunched up one of our paper doilies and added the rose.

Birthday fun!

Sharing a special night celebrating a dear friend's milestone birthday. 

 She hosted her celebration by honoring her friends over the years. 

We all brought our "favorite things" wrapped up ready to exchange with each other.  We all got a number and were able to open, steal or keep the gifts.  It was a blast!

First day of spring!

It's the first day of spring!  

Which means the cherry blossoms are in full bloom at the University of Washington.  I took my girls there friday to stroll around and take in the sunshine and views.  It did not disappoint.

St Patrick's Day

A little luck of the Irish happening over here......

framed this Subway art for my front porch and added the cute green pom pom banner.

I took a mason jar and filled it with green kisses.  I added a doily, cut out a chevron circle.  I punched out three gold hearts with our heart punch and gold foil paper which is on sale this week under our weekly deals program (look below)  and hand cut the stem to create the shamrock.  Wrap the doily around the jar using gold accented baker's twine.  Add the Happy St. Patrick's day sentiment from the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set.

Light Fixture Redux

Here's a fun inexpensive way to update one of those "boob" light fixtures you have.

  I measured the base of the light first, then went to TJ Maxx and found a lamp shade the same size.

Once you have you have found the lamp shade you want to use, unscrew the existing light and just remove the glass base.  Now add the new shade by screwing it in directly into the existing fixture,  As you see in photo.

Here it is all complete, kinda different, but in a cool way!

Chocolate Bunnies

Getting ready for some Easter fun around here.  While I was taking down decorations I found these bunnies and thought, hey, these would be so cute painted to look like chocolate,

 (since I LOVE chocolate!)

I used an amber brown acrylic paint with a sponge brush.

And don't they look like you could eat them!!
