Decoupage christmas jars

Hello!
Get ready for some crafting fun!
Grab some jars that you might have laying around.
You will need some acrylic paint, sponge brush, some holiday napkins, gold twine or ribbon,
a gold permanent pen and some modge podge.
Let's do this!

I have found that HomeGoods and Marshalls are two really great places
to pick up napkins, they both have a great variety to choose from.

I just happen to have these cutie little yogurt jars that I am using
but you can use any size you have.  I also made one using a spaghetti jar
that I will share with you.

\\

Making sure your jar is clean, start by brushing on two coats of your color of acrylic.
It can be any color that compliments your napkin.  I just chose this beige as my
napkin has a light background, but any color will look good.  Let the paint
dry between coats.

Now take out your napkin, most all napkins have two layers,
did you know this?  well, they do so we want to separate
them.  Some easily just peel away, but if you've chose
one that doesn't lightly wet your finger tips to be able to grab
onto the napkin to separate it.  Peel it away so that you are left with
just the image side which will be almost like tissue paper.

At this point you will start to cut pieces that fit to your jar.  I cut a circle for the bottom
to cover it, but you don't have to.  My jars are so small and short that I felt it necessary to do so.   Cut pieces to fit the sides as well.  This is a very forgiving craft so if you don't cut straight or enough you can add pieces.  The modge podge should be put on first with a very LIGHT layer.  I see this in my classes all the time, people slather it on which will create your napkin to crinkle and tear.  just use a little bit to adhere your napkin.  Once adhered, add another light coat over top and let dry.

In these two pictures you can see the difference in using ribbon and
gold twine.  Not sure which one I like better......

Final touches are using the gold pen to line the rim of the jar and adding the ribbon or cording of your choice.  Then add treats!

Wooden Ornament

If you're looking for a quick and easy craft for yourself or the kids or classroom,
this is one for you!
These little wooden tags can be found at Hobby Lobby as well as the little
wooden cut outs.  All you need is some glue and that's it!
Glue your cute little images right to the wooden tags and that's it.
You could color them in with markers, but I think they are cute
just as they are!

Thanksgiving food bin

Aunt Linda's skellies are back Thanksgiving style!
Such a cute set up to get everyone in the holiday
spirit!
I truly LOVE my aunt's heart, take a look at what she displayed out on her front lawn, a cute decorated table with a bin full of food and a message....

She wrote on the top of the bin
"A friend in need is a friend indeed"
Please help yourself to needed items.
Please feel free to add items to the bin.
My aunt says she has gone through one full bin and now onto another.
She is full of kindness in helping others during this Thanksgiving season.  I am so proud of her!
What a great idea and way to give back to others!

Christmas gift idea

Hello!
I am always looking for a great small gift idea for friends, women's groups, family members and this one takes the cake.

I love packaging and thinking about how to put together
the gift.

You're most likely wondering what the gift is...
I found these cute little round dishes and was able
to find on Etsy this incredible shop that sells dish soap
disks.  Have you heard of them before?
You can use a little brush or sponge to lather
the soap up.

This is the dish soap disc, I chose the rosemary
mint scent and it's amazing!

The cute little dish....

The soap fits perfectly in the dish!

Using some cello wrap and greenery pipe cleaner
and ribbon, it's all tied up and ready to gift.

Friendsgiving 2025

Friendsgiving 4.0!
Love watching my youngest and her hubby gather their friends together each
year to celebrate one another through friendship and gratitude.
Shae does an amazing job with cooking, the decor and her tablescape!

After two turkeys and lots of baking and cooking,
we were able to seat all 22 of their guests.
thankful for costco tables!

She went the extra mile this year by hand embroidering personalized napkins for each guests in different fall colors.   Love this! a labor of love for sure!

Her tables were gorgeous with homemade dinner menus,
dried fruit and dried hydrangeas.
It's so rewarding watching the next generation gather friends together
and share traditions...... my heart is full!

Dollar Tree Candy Cane

Happy wednesday!
Have you seen these LED light up candy canes?
they are now at the Dollar Tree and they will sell out fast.
I forgot to take a picture of them lit up, but boy are they cute.

What I decided to do was to use Christmas ribbon I had on hand
to cover the candy canes and make a bow to attach to them.
I'm sure you are asking if they still light up if they are covered and they do!

To make them you will use your glue gun to tack down at the bottom of the candy cane your first piece of the ribbon you choose.
Start wrapping the ribbon tightly, going slowly all the way til you get to the end where you will glue the tip.
Then make your bow and hot glue it to the candy cane.
If you don't want a bow, you can always add some greenery instead.

You can set these out on the porch or put them in the ground,
also set them up inside your home or like I show you, at your hearth.

Wooden Tree ornaments

Let the wild rumpus begin!
The holidays are just around the corner,
here is a fun craft for you to try.
These are wood slices that I found in a pack of 5 at Michael's.

For this project you will need:
a green ribbon, I also chose a black and white one
a glitter pom pom or a ribbon you can tie into a bow and add to the tree top.
Some white acrylic paint, and glitter.

Cut your ribbon into 2" in strips, you will cut 15 pieces.
Using your glue gun, put a small amount of glue on the end and
make a loop like you see in the photo above. Make 15 of these,
they will be your branches for the tree.

They will look like this.....
set them aside and take your wood round and using a brush,
paint the bottom of the wood slice.  It will dry quickly, once it does add your glitter.  Now, using a pencil, dip it in the white paint and gently add little dots all over the wood rounds for the snow.

For the tree trunk, you can us a small piece of cinnamon stick
or go outside and find a small twig.
What ever you use, glue it to the round and continue by adding
the tree pieces.  To do this start at the bottom of the tree,  I used 4 pieces and then kept adding layers til I got to the top of the tree,
where I added the glitter pom pom.  I love how they turned out!!!
Would you try and make one?
If so,  send me your pictures!

Here is the green one too.
