Retreat

Starting the weekend off by spending some time in the mountains on a retreat with some amazing women.  Who doesn't love pillow swag?  I love to shower people with gifts of love and encouragement.  My theme for the retreat is Brave.  BE Brave!
each and ever one of us.  No matter what we are going through. The heavy, the ugly, pasts haunting us.  All of it.  Be brave. You will get through this.  It takes courage and strength each day to pull ourselves through the challenges that come our way.   I just want to lift each and everyone of you up this weekend  as well with whatever  might be heavy on your heart.  Know that you are LOVED and YOU  matter!   Here are a few things that I put together to gift and lift these women up.

Chalkboard framed art to remind them to be brave and strong

Warm and toasty furry socks to stay warm, we are headed to the mountains where it will be in the 20's tonite.  Gahhhhhhh!

Boxed sea salted caramels- chocolate makes everything better right?

These beautys, Brave Soul bracelets made especially for each of them by Love Squared Designs.   Thank you sweet Lisa!
Wearing words on  our wrists is a constant reminder to each of us to stay strong.  You got this!

I'll hopefully get some great pictures to share of our retreat  and what lies ahead this weekend.   Have yourselves a fabulous weekend : You are Braver than you think
Stronger than you seem and smarter than you tihink!

Home for Christmas

This paper is the bomb!  Vintage all the way baby!  If you love the nostalgic looks of the 50's Christmas style, then this is for YOU!
The name of this paper is our Home for Christmas designer paper.  It is double sided, beautifully decorated vintage paper.  This whole card is created with the paper.   The base of the card is Very Vanilla cardstock.  Even the cute little characters have been fussy cut.   Add our Cherry Cobbler striped ribbon and our vintage brads and paper lace doilies and you have one gorgeous Christmas card.

Halloween table ideas

Martha+Stewart+Halloween+Menu | ... the right amount of eerie. I saved it to use next year for Halloween:

Happy Hallow's Eve!   Wanted to share just a few fun tablescape ideas with you this freaky friday.  You can glean a couple ideas from these great tables that I found at a few blogs.  There are some that you can easily incorporate to your table.  Easy is EASY right?
Love the one above, using a little cheesecloth from your kitchen and  some candles you may have in the house.  Instant spookiness!

stunning fall centerpiece by tone on tone with muted colors, antlers, white pumpkins, and white hydrangeas.:

Have any antlers laying around the yard or house?  This would be just gorgeous to do.  If you do have any laying around, would you mind shipping me some?

I am planning to do two of these on either side of a yard display of rotting heads and body parts on steaks!!!OH YEAH!!! It is the most wonderful time of the year!!!:

Do you like a more frightful Halloween?  Then this tablescape is for YOU!  and did you know you can purchase almost all of these things in this photo at the Dollar Tree?  No lie!  even the spanish moss. Yep.  Not a plug for Dollar Tree, just letting you know they have them!

DIY Thanksgiving Centerpieces with Water | 30 Magnificent DIY Halloween Table Decorations | Daily source for ...:

And how elegant is this one.  Add a tablecloth from your drawer, your plates.  Then head on down to your Dollar Tree for the crows and the skeletons.  You can do this!  Doesn't have to be exactly the same, add a few of the little white pumpkins from the grocer and there you have it.

And here's the last one.  Love it!  a plate, red napkin and those                                        super cheap plastic fangs!
Now that I have slightly (Ha!) inspired you to decorate your Hallowen table.  Go out there,  Eat, drink and be Scary tomorrow!
I will share with you sunday my Halloween table.
                                      Happy Halloween!!!

Pallet Art

Been a little under the weather the last few days but wanted to share this pallet I made for my brother-in-law's birthday.  He's definitely a Cabela's kind of guy!
Anywho,  There are just 5 different sized pieces of wood I used to make this pallet.  I nailed them all to the back two slats. I used then hand drew the the deer head and used acrylic paint in espresso.
To give it that aged look I used Rustoleum stain in dark walnut and a dry brush.

Pumpkin Pin

Here's fun and easy pin to make for your teacher's halloween treat bag.  Check out the instructions below to make one.

Now you could use a sponge dauber if you like with some chocolate chip ink and just lightly shade the edges of the pumpkin.  I used a glue gun to attach the pin to the back as well as the ribbon to the top of the pumpkin.
Have fun creating these!
