Valentine's

Happy wednesday,
I found this stamp at Hobby Lobby and decided
that it would make great little cards to gift the gals
coming for this year's Galentine's day lunch
next week.

I decided to emboss the image in gold to create
the cards, very simple.

I added 10 to each package and then tied creme and gold
baker's twine and finished it off with a copper heart.

Everyone can use notecards right?

Valentine fortune cookies

Hello monday!
look at these cuties!
Let's make some valentine fortune cookies!

You can make these any size you'd like,
I cut 3" circles for mine.  I also used double sided
paper which gives you more options for different
patterns.

I cut these pieces of paper for the fortune about 4" long
and just stamped happy valentine's day, you could hand write
a message too.

Take your circle and fold in half.

see the crease line?
set the fortune opposite the crease line.

start to roll the circle fold one side up then folding the other down.

once you have done that fold the cookie in half on the crease side to create your fortune cookie.

adhere your cookie together by adding just a little
dot of hot glue toward the fold of the cookie and
hold til cooled.

There you have it!
they are so sweet!

Valentine's paper plate treat holder

Happy saturday!
Well look at these,  so cute, fun to gift and easy to make!
I went into the dollar tree and homegoods to find some paper plates.
The top picture is the ones from Homegoods, the one below is from
dollar tree, both equally adorable, but of course the ones below 12 for $1.25.   Such a steal.

What you need:
Paper plates
ribbon
cello wrap
candy
packaging tape
straws
You can find all of these at the dollar tree or the store of your choice.

Take two plates and unwrap them, then fold one of them inside out.
You can see in the picture above the ridge around the plate.
The photo below shows you how I folded it inside out.

Using the second plate, fill it with any candy, toys, gift cards,
small socks, anything that will fit in that plate.

Grab your straw and tape in to the plate that has the candy on it.
I used thick strapping tape as opposed to wrapping tape.

Start taping the plate, I taped the top, bottom and sides.

Lay your plate on top of the cello wrap and cut enough cello
to wrap around the top of the plate, almost like you're folding
it in half so that is meets up with the straw.

Now tie your cello around the base of the plate and straw,
use some wrapping tape to adhere any little pieces of
cello that you need to tape down.
That's it!  Aren't they adorable!

Valentine's purse

These little pink purses are so cute to make for valentine's day or birthday parties or luncheons.
They are made with cardstock, I used this cute new bow wax seal to close the purse.
I showed how to make these purses about yikes, 10 years ago!

Cut your first piece of cardstock at 6"x 5",
Take your paper and lay it on the 6" side and score each side in at 1".
Then turn it to the 5" side and score in at 2 1/2" on each side.
In the center like you see in the above photo, cut in each side to make the bottom of the purse.

These pieces were cut with a big shot die, you can cut three
pieces of paper at 4 1/4" x 5 1/2". cutting a 1/2" off each end of two of them.  The third one score at 1/2" in, then 1" more.

Add double back tape on each end of the flaps of the purse
and fold it all together and adhere all sides to close up the base of the purse.

Punch a hole in the side to add some ribbon for the wristlit.

Here it is all put together.

from another angle.

I added a pink chapstick and candy.

All filled up

you can see the wristlet on the left

a view from the sides

Isn't this wax stamp so cute! Bows are everywhere.

So sweet....

All done!

Galentine's day lunch

Happy monday!
Sharing my galentine's day get together from last year to get you motivated to host one too!
I am currently working on my table idea for this year and as soon as I
reign it all in,  you WILL get to see it!
The LOVE plates were found at HomeGoods.
Most everything else I had on hand.

I showed in an earlier post how to make these paper bows,
I ended up putting them at the top of the plates over the cloth
napkins.

In the center of the table I used a full sized table cloth
that I scrunched up as a runner down the center
and added high and low candles.
The flowers in the center are baby's breath.

In the center of the table I put a three tiered tray, you can add anything you like, I added the sandwiches, scones and desserts on

It's fun to fill up the tiered tray with all the goodies.
I was going with a "tea party" type of lunch
so I wanted the food to be small bites.

I made chicken salad on lettuce, turkey croissants, egg salad sandwiches, scones and fruit and small desserts.

Do you like to do Valentine's dinner or lunch?
Hopefully I have encouraged you to host a galentine's
lunch or dinner or get together!
Super fun to gather with your girlfriend's and celebrate!
You could even have everyone just bring a different
charcuterie board, like a dessert one, a fruit one,
a protein, or nacho one.  The ideas are endless!

Valentine treats

Happy sunday!
I had quite a few of these plastic ornaments left over from Christmas
so I had to put them to use.

These ornaments are the type where they snap together.
I filled the ornament with some valentine's candy.

fill her up, they hold a lot of candy.

Once filled I attached the straw with some hot glue,
then used a gusseted bag to case it in.
I added a tag and ribbon bow to finish it off.
