Christmas JOY cards

Creating a little JOY this monday morning.

Here is just one of the cards from the new paper pumpkin

kit.  It's not too early for Christmas cards right? 

These cards are so cute, they have velvet on them.  

You can see them on the leaves and on the pointsettia flower.

There are also sparkly red sequins on the cards too.

Love the simplicity of these cards, stay tuned for the next three

cards from the kit. 

Diy ghost lights

Do you love halloween as much as I do?

I decided to turn my hanging lights in my kitchen and butler's pantry

by covering them with light gauze from the Dollar Tree.

I used a safety pin to adhere it to the light in the back and added some oval circles for the eyes that I punched out in black. 

They turned out too cute and are super easy to do.

You could also do this to your outdoor lighting. 

A boooo-tiful way to decorate your home!

Orange Pumpkin candle

Here's a fun little diy for you to try this weekend.

I made this cute jack o'lantern pumpkin candle.

How did I do it you say?

Here we go! 

Grab some oranges, the larger the better.

Grab yourself some large oranges and cut the top off it.

Proceed to hallow the middle out with a spoon and knife. 

Once it's cleaned out, take a sharp knife and cut a cute

little face on it. 

Here it is up close

Preheat your oven at 225 and grab a cookie sheet to set your orange on.   You could make as many as you want,  I just wanted to give it a try.  Once you have it on the cookie sheet, wade up some foil and

push it into the cavity of the orange so that it holds it form. 

Put it in the oven for 2 hours to dry at 225.

Once dry pierce holes on each side to run some wire through

so that you can hang it.  You could also make a bunch and make a garland of them too. 

I moved it around the house to see where I wanted it to go,

here it is on the mantle. 

I put a led battery operated candle in the pumpkin

and I think it's super cute hanging, but either way

it's cute!

Dollar Tree ghost napkins

 Everyone who knows me, knows I LOVE napkins for all seasons and paper plates.  When you are at my home this little basket is always filled with holiday plates and napkins.

I found theses cutie ghost plates at the Dollar Tree of all places.

The photo doesn't show it will but the rim of the ghost is a sage green not gray.  They are so adorable and go great with the cutie napkins I found at Ross.   

Make sure and grab some early, they will go quick!

Halloween houses!

Such a spooktacular night we had!

The sky showed off with a "candy corn sky"

and the neighborhood I grew up in was all decked out for 

Halloween.

Here are a few of the places we drove by.

I can't get over how creative people get decorating for Halloween.

do you see it?  they've created a very large witch out of a bush  complete with teeth! 

This one is fun,  it has the floating Harry Potter candles at the door as well as snakes slithering along the wall. 

Also, looks like a Amazon drop off... hahaaa

This one was beyond frightful,  the wind was blowing hard

and this creeper was swaying every which way....

They had four trees with hanging jeeper, creepers...

And these skellies were tucked all over a hedge with 

the spiders webs.... creeeppppy!

Candles and Canvass' creative night

Happy friday!

I held a candles and canvas's class.

Even though my guests had not 

painted much before, there pieces turned out

cute ghost with umbrella's

such a "spooktacular" sight! 

The one on the right end was made with wall compound!

simple but so good! 

always love me some cutie ghosties! 

This one is a painted black canvas, then wall compound/spackle

that she spread onto the canvas.  boooo-tifully done! 

annnddd...... you've seen these before, but the ever popular ghost temporary tattoo candles. 

Such a fun night, we had on the movie Practical Magic and just took

in the fall day.   Happy weekend! 

Mummy brownies

Let's have some fun with these little mummy wrapped brownies!

What you need are a box of the Little Debbie brownies at the grocery store.  They are individually wrapped.

Grab some tape, white crepe paper, googlie eyes and some scissors.

Start by taping the crepe paper to the back of the brownie

then wrapping it around it til you get the look you like.

Glue your googlie eyes in place and cut yourself

a piece of the crepe paper and cut it in half

to tie around the middle of the mummy. 

How cute are these!

Great to give to friends, co-workers, parties etc!

Skeleton embroidery bag

Happy monday!

I have quite a few of these canvas bags and decided

to try my hand at making a halloween skellie bag for

my auntie for halloween. 

I literally did this free hand using the straight stitch, french knot and

the petal stitch and satin stitch to make this spooky guy.

I started with the legs and body and worked up word to

make his head.

Turned out pretty good, my aunt loved it!

Fun trying new things and giving yourself a challenge!
