Handlettering Love

         

                       

              Sharing my new LOVE right now-  Handlettering!  

Get out your Black Stampin Write Brush marker and give it a whirl.   I used Whisper White cardstock to write on, them put an overlay of our Gold Vellum paper on top by adding a slight bit of snail adhesive to the very corners of the card to attach.  It is layered upon a sheet of Brushed Gold paper.   How easy was that!

Bear Hugs

Have I sold you on this adorable Bear Hugs stamp set yet?  Just can't get enough of it's cuteness!

This is a cute little treat holder made with a piece of Real Red cardstock cut at 8 1/2" x 2"

Once cut take the Ornate tag topper punch (item # 137416)  and punch both ends then, score at 3 1/2" and then 4 1/2" add a mini hershey chocolate bar inside and fold up and tie off with ribbon.

Stamp the large bear on whisper white cardstock in Early Espresso and fussy cut her out.  Stamp the heart on Pink Pirouette cardstock and cute out.  I used the Paper Doily and cut just a little piece to create her skirt.

Going Global

We are going global today!  It also happens to be the name of our new stamp set.  I had a request for gifts to be made for friends that someone wanted to gift them to show how much they mean to this person.   I took one look at the Going Global stamp set and knew I was going to put it into action.  The set can be found in our newly released Occasions catalog.

I purchased some 4" tall candles and used our Kraft paper to wrap around them.   I then used the Typeset Specialty paper # 133704, the World map piece and added some color to it with our sponge daubers.

I have had these cotton  bags around for years,  couldn't even tell you where I found them, but I am sure you can find them.  Use black Stazon ink to stamp directly onto the bags.  I also put a shim inside of the bag so that the ink doesn't bleed through the bag.

The chocolate globes can be found at candy stores.

Here's the fun part!  take your world map and sponge daubers and start coloring (lightly) to create a vintage map vibe.  Goes quick I promise you.   I used one in half sheets to cover 3 candles.

Ink colors I used are Calypso Coral, Daffodil Delight, Soft Sky and Pear Pizzaz.  

I also made the tags with the world map paper and stamped directly on the paper with the "you mean the world to me" stamp.

Attach it to the candles with pieces of Linen Thread

I love how the Going Global set matches perfectly with our Typset Specialty paper.   Nice collaboration!

Valentine Treats

Here's a cute little treat box for you to try for any occasion. I filled it will hershey nuggets.  Directions are below.   This cute little bear is in our new stamp set Bear Hugs.

It holds seven nuggets.  This is the inside.

Start by choosing a 6 x 6 piece of designer paper.  I just used white paper below so you can see the lines for scoring and measuring purposes.  

Now turn the paper and score the other way at 1' on each side

It should look like this once all scored.

Take your scissors and cut up on each side of the box to meet up to the 1" score line as you see below.

Take your adhesive and add to the ends to close your box up.

Now you are ready to decorate the box.

Bear Hugs returns!

This little bear is just popping right out of the tree all covered in honey!  This bear will make his debut on  January 5th in the new Ocassions catalog.  Bear Hugs is the stamp set, sure to please!

I stamped the honey pot three times on white cardstock and used Hello Honey marker to color in the honey the cut one of the drippings of honey to fit around his mouth.  The honey around the tree is just cut from the honey pot and glue to the rim of the tree.

One of my favorite winter activities I LIVE for each winter season is Snowshoeing.   Here are some pics I took while snowshoeing in the mountains here in Washington.  These are the cascade mountains and the area I'm in is Cle Elum.   The views are just breathtaking and the weather on this day was absolutely crystal clear and gorgeous!

As I was shoeing I looked up to this amazing scenery.  It reminded me of the movie Narnia.....

When the new year rings in I always tell myself I will try 3 new things each year.  This can be ANYTHING!  to taking up a new hobby, trying a new sport or activity, going somewhere you've never been.   What will you try?

I love that we close the 12th chapter of the year yesterday and beginning a whole new page.  What's your first chapter going to look like?   Maybe snowshoeing?!!!!!
