Yesterday's Succulent creative class was a huge hit!
Above are the peat pots we painted and decorated and filled with chicks and hens.
This set was made by Samara Straba, pc credit to her too.
These are the wood signs we altered.
Got to have some fun succulent cards to give away.
Have you ever tried faux stitching? Super easy and all you need is a pin and a ruler and a foam board. Start along the ruler and every 1/8" punch a hole. Once you've gone along your card take a marker, I used crumb cake and draw a line across your punched holes. Looks like I stitched it doesn't it!!!
Faux Stitching! Something for you to try.
I always try to have my gals try something new, yesterday it was the faux stitching and watercolor brushing with the aqua painter.
Pretty hard to make a mistake with this technique as you can see above. You just lightly brush the color along the paper.
The succulent pot is make by punching out a half of a 1 3/4" circle with a circle punch and hand cutting out the rim.
They also stamped on these cute wood tags with black staz on ink.
Make sure when you stamp on wood you are using a permanent ink which are pigment based. Water based inks will rub right off.
Here is another one of the peat pots sets created by Jackie Soo
I loved seeing each person's own style come out in what we create.
Hello Julie,
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing these creative and refreshing ideas. Succulents are so popular and what you have shown is beautiful. I definitely am going to try the water color technique, it makes the card look professional and classy. You have stirred up my creative juices! Beverly
(I was not sure if my first message went through, so please excuse this second on if it did).
