Cookie Exchange Tins

So today we are snowed in!  Not because the snow accumalated but the temps dropped and now all roads are covered in ice.  The kids have been playing outside and decided to write out Christmas lists. Here's what I have been working on.  I always buy the mega can of dishwashing tablet cans at Costco and save them lids and all.  I used the SU!  DSP called Deck the Halls.  It takes 2 sheets of 12 x 12 to cover these cans, they are very large.  Perfect to hold your cookies for a cookie exchange.  I used all the new goodies in the mini catalog as well.  There are a few up close pictures for you to see,  I just did minimal decorating.

So I mentioned that the girls wrote out their Christmas lists... well I am not suppose to show you Shelby's but Shaelyn's just made us giggle.  Take a look......

I just love the innocence of little girls,  so Shae has on her list that she would like "close'  which is clothes! and further down she says sikiney jeans,  I hope I can find sik a nini jeans somewhere!  (skinny jeans) and last on the list  she says "slipers"  I was laughing!  where will I find slip-ers!  so stinkin cute!  xoxo

Vintage Santa Mini Scrapbooks

I know, I know you are tired of seeing this Santa!  But I LOVE him and have been using him alot for gift making and such.  Today's post is a cute little 3 1/2 x 4 1/2 mini 20 page scrapbook.  I tried to use up some of my old DSP to shake colors up a bit.  You already know where the santa is from! LOL!
Here they are up close....

It has been snowing all day today,  it puts a big smile on my face and  puts me in the holiday mood!  Hope you are warm and toasty where you are,  and for those of you in those nice hot climates: Hawaii and Australia...  I wish I could sun my buns!  enjoy all!  xoxo

Santa on a Candy Cane

It's friday It's friday!  my favorite day of the week!  today's post is a revisted idea that you see everytime you visit my blog.  Last year I posted the santa candy cane and so this year I vamped it up a notch vintage style. All products are from the SU! Holiday mini.  I started by using the large oval Big Shot die and stamping the Jolly Old Saint Nick stamp, took out the Bright Christmas set to stamp the Holly Jolly Christmas.  I adhered the gold waffle paper around the oval shape and then added the Tinsel Trim.  Very easy ladies!  xoxo

Thanksgiving metallic pumpkins

So here's what I started with.... remember those really cheap pumpkins with lids made by Libby's that you see everywhere for sale?  Well mine has been sitting around my cupboards for years.  I saw in blogland that people are painting glass with Looking glass spray paint so I thought I might try and spray these puppies.  I opted to use the metallic spray paint instead of the  looking glass kind.  $3.99 verses $14.99 hence the cheaper one!  You will want to spray with a spray primer first then I put gloves on to hold the inside of the glass pumpkin while spraying the outside.  I used the Rustoleum Metallic silver. Let dry overnight...

Here's what they ended up lookin like!  Aren't they just gorgeous!  I found these adorable candleholders
at TJ Maxx.  Just love them!  xoxo

Paper Turkey

Isn't this turkey funny!  He is made from 60  4 inch circles cut from an old book.  The feathers on the back are from the large oval punch that I hand cut to a point.  His head is made with 5 of the scallop oval punches folded together and glued.  I used a  sponge dauber and some soft suede ink to distress him.  His gobbler under the chin is made from a punched out heart.  The feet are a flower punch cut in half.   Gobble Gobble!!  xoxo
