Gold Creek summer vibes

Happy friday!

I have shared this hike with you all before but this was the first time I have been there in the summer and the views 

were spectacular!

Such beauty and gorgeous colors!

My friend Cheryl and I and her caute cavi-poo Brooke

hiked out way around Gold Creek Pond 

(isn't Brooke a cutie!)

The lake was so clear and aqua blue in color.

The trail provides views of Gold Creek valley and Chikamin Peak 

in the Alpine Wilderness.  

Give it a try this summer if your looking for a local easy going hike.

Grad Party

What a fun weekend celebrating my girl's graduation!

So many friends and family showed up and I cannot thank you all for coming and sharing in Shae's accomplishment!

I wish I was able to get more photos of everyone but here are a few.....

Here are a few of the decor pics.

Remember the hula hoop photo rings I shared last month?

Here they are with all her pictures on them.

My girlfriend Kirstin owns this canoe and I was lucky enough to get to borrow it from her for the party.

We set it on top of some landscape rocks that are on our patio area and then put some 25lb arm weights inside to keep it secure.

I used a 10ft long piece of wood to run the entire length of the canoe in order to be able to set things on top for serving.  

I used white tablecloths to cover the wood.  I also used buckets in areas in the canoe where I could put the bowls of food or tortillas.

At each end of the canoe and in the center I put flowers that were in glass vases that I sent right down inside of the canoe.  It worked well and also filled up with ends.

It really turned out better than I ever expected!

We were really hoping for sunshine, it came around 5pm 

just shortly after everyone left, go figure.....

Still, it turned out to be a great celebration

Hello dear friends and happy friday!

We are gearing up over here for a grad party for one happy

graduated senior!

I'll post pics this weekend

Of course as I always say I have to alter my Paper pumpkin cards.

This designed just a bit different adding the velvet teal ribbon down the side of the card.  The feather is such a soft added touch.

Just curious,  how many of you would still like to see card ideas on my blog?  Would you like to see more home decor diy's or home projects?   Let me know..........

I used curling ribbon but you can use any ribbon you like.

I also added a tag at the bottom of the necklace.

You can use hard candies, I used M & M's for one

of the lei's and airheads for another.

Something to consider if you live in the hot states, you may not want to use chocolate candies as they melt.

Take a look at these colors!

I simply cut up two of the different designs and placed them

on top of each other, then cut out two of the magnolia flowers to 

add to the front of the card with the thinking of you salutation.

Gorgeous!!!!!

I cut just a little bit around the edge of the petals of

the flowers and bent them up to give them

a 3d effect.....

So in love with these colors!!!! gaaahhhhh!

Graduation Hula Hoop

A few weeks ago I shared with you all and idea for you to showcase photos for upcoming events this summer.

Weddings, showers, graduations, anniversaries, etc....

Well,   look at this one above!!!!

Mara stepped it up!  check out the amazing details she added to 

her hoop!  Every little detail.  She tied her ribbons to the hoop which is genius! Also adding scrabble wood tiles to spell out grads.

And look at those cute sparkly glasses! 

This is just makes me smile!

When I post, my goal is to show you projects that you can truly make, and I always stress how easy they are.

Rubbermaid Cabinet

Happy weekend everyone!

We have been working on a few projects over here today.

One was hanging one of those 8ft. steel ceiling racks in our garage to make more organizational space for boxes and things since we moved in. 

The other was this project I took on.

I was looking for a cabinet or chest to put outside and found 

this gem at Home Depot by Rubbermaid.

Now,  I personally am one that does not enjoy taking the time

to put something like this together, but I tell you, it was super easy and didn't test my patience at all. 

I purchased mine for $149.00

The size of this cabinet is generous it runs 

46" x 24" x 37.50 with a shelve inside that holds

up to 50lbs in weight. 

Seriously, look at this piece! It really looks like it is a piece of furuniture, but it's plastic!

Even the handles are real handles and the doors have a snap feature so that when you close it you can put a lock on it or not.

This was the space I was visualizing for it to go and it fits beautifully.

Loving the look and space that it fills. 

It will be handy when I am hosting outside.

Right now I filled it up with beach towels and our

life jackets all on one shelf with plenty of room for other things that could be stored there.
