Best pumpkin snickerdoodles

Happy Halloween!
Here's a special recipe to share with you.
These are pumpkin snickerdoodles dipped in white chocolate.
They are super big and soft and delish!
Some gals came over yesterday for a fun morning of
fall treats and Halloween fun.
I drew some faces on the oranges I set out and served
up these cookies.

little cuties....

I bagged them up to gift away,
the ones I'm serving for Halloween I ended up not
dipping them but using a fork to drizzle the white chocolate
over the cookies then added eyeballs so they look like mummies.

These are so delish!
Are you up to some tricks or treats today?
I am planning my annual spooky dinner and will share what I am planning on making on my next post.
Happy Halloween

Halloween tomfoolery!

Let the halloween fun begin!
We may have hit the streets with a little bit of tomfoolery!
I found these halloween glasses at Homegoods and knew I had
to grab them for my sister and I.

They are quite oversized and whimsical, just what we were looking for.  Of course once we tried them on, we couldn't stop laughing!

We decided to take them to the streets!
Since I coordinate weddings, I have a massive amounts
of white tablecloths.  We took the tablecloths and put them
over us and put on the glasses.
Little did we know that right by the park we were doing this at was a drive thru, we were so engrossed in our fun and laughter it took
us over 20 minutes to realize the people going thru the drive thru were being entertained!  Oh the laughter!  so much fun was had!

You're never too old to dress up right?
Muuuuwaaahhhh!

Spooky House

Welcome to my Aunt's spooky house 2024!
Here is just a little sampling of her amazing work.
She is beyond talented.
You can only imagine how her home would look at night
with all the lights on.

Her home is decorated in every room and area and it takes
her a month to put it all together.
Every year she creates new rooms and scenes and sometimes
what was in a different room the year before is reused
in another scene or room and you think it's new!
Above is her fireplace, the mirror is interactive
and very creepy.  I wish I had a video of it to share.

Another area where there are vintage creepy toys and a interactive
toybox that opens with toys that talk!
The cute little bears in the basket turn into scary and mean interactive
stuffed furries.

This is her dining room dubbed the "Vampire" room
this year.  Bats are everywhere and viles of blood and bags of blood.

She doesn't miss a detail, look at that table cloth!

And those candle sticks....

The kitchen has witches in it complete with a
broomstick that moves around the room magically.

This is the western room!
There is more to it, but these three are so funny!

Her light up wooden halloween houses.

Her spooky town....
I am always in awe of her creativity and designs in what she does
every year! We are all so lucky to get to experience all she creates
and how she uses her talents!  Love her creative mind!

Halloween houses!

Yesterday I had so much looking at Halloween houses
in Magnolia where I grew up.
My friend and I had a fun time seeking out homes
in the area looking for Halloween fun!
Each house was amazing!

They kept getting better and better,
but the one that took the cake was our
visit to my Aunt's Spooky House.
Stay tuned as I will be sharing pictures from
her home in my next post!
Do you like to go look at Halloween houses?

Halloween decor

Happy wednesday!
Sharing little pockets of halloween decor from around our home.
The above picture is in our guest bathroom window.
There isn't a lot of space to decorate in there, but this window
becomes the focal spot.

A little table vingette, can you tell I'm all about
the ghosts this year?

Our entryway....

The new mantle!
all cozy and ready for Halloween!

My new wreath with the ghostie I made for it.
These cornhusk wreath are just gorgeous!

A little up close of the mantle decor....

Halloween Ghost diy

Happy monday!
Sharing my Halloween wreath today.
I have wanted to purchase a corn husk wreath for years
and was able to find a gal on Etsy that makes these.
They are so full and I love the natural look of them.

I had also seen online this adorable ghost that you could purchase.
I decided I was going to challenge myself to make one.
It couldn't be that hard right?

He turned out pretty cute!

Most of what I needed I had on hand.
But started with some gauze from the Dollar Tree,
the little pumpkin from Hobby Lobby, some
black felt and modge podge.

I started with a empty spaghetti jar, a balloon that I barely
blew up and some pipe cleaners.
I set them all on top of a bowl as I needed the gauze to dry
with some length to it.

Take a bowl and add a 1/4 cup of the modge podge and just a little water to create a paste.  Now drop your gauze into the the liqiud and
make sure you cover all the gauze.
Gently fold it in half and lay it over the make shift ghost body
and let dry overnight.  If you have any paste left use it with a sponge brush and brush any areas that might need a little more of the glue.

When it's all dry cut yourself some eyes and add them to the ghost,
That's it!
I attached the ghost to the wreath with some wire.
Love how this turned out!

It's super easy to make.

New fireplace!

Happy wednesday!
We've been in our house for 6 years now and
since we've been here I have longed for a mantle.
The fireplace itself is so pretty but has stone
ledges that just didn't give it a comfy feel.
So this past sunday we got busy and transformed
the fireplace.

You can see in this picture the ledges.
At Christmas I would try and create a faux mantle with one of the ledges.  Just didn't cut it.....

And..... here it is! all transformed!
I am LOVING it!

We started by scoring the ledges with a masonry
scoring tool then taping the ledge with a mallet
and they suprisingly popped right off.

This is the only ledge that we ran into trouble with.
When we popped this one off it took away some of
the stone and masonry.

We patched it up with masonry chalking.
The mantle piece I ordered from Amazon.
It's a company called "Dogberry", they
have a website, but I was surprised to
find them on Amazon prime days discounted.

Once the patch job dries you can paint it.
The mantle came with this wood bar that gets
screwed into the stone with a hammer drill.
Then you just mount the wood mantle right
onto the ledge.

Using a hammer drill made drilling into the stone so easy.
There were five screws that needed to be drilled.
They took minutes, that's it.
And the result is awesome!
