More Magnolia Silos

Sharing some more pics from our Silo visit
This is when we were there on friday
As you can see there are no people, at least hardly any
Above is the actual Magnolia store

This is the view from the grass lawn where there are food trucks lined along the backside of the fence.
There is plenty of tables and areas to sit and eat

These were the bathrooms
So cute inside, should have taken a picture
There is jasmine lined along the wall, and it smells so good!

This is the cutest vintage truck they have for photo ops
(no one there!! we were lucky let me tell you!)

So this is the next day, clear skies and much more people!

I took a bunch of pictures of the inside of the store displays
obviously my fav!  here are a few.....

Such pretty displays, all over

And of course there has to be Chip's corner
Everything a guy needs for his man cave and more!

Magnolia Silos

I was invited and lucky enough to spend this past weekend in Waco for the inaugural Magnolia Silo District Marathon
But first.......
Our visit to the Silos

It's as beautiful as you can imagine.   Joanna has a flare for simplicity and spectacular design while making you feel right at home, even at her store and bakery
Not a detail is left out.....

This is the outside of the bakery
We went to the Silos on friday in the early afternoon and I tell you, there were maybe 100+ people that was it!
But the next day....saturday, a whole different story....100's!!!!

This cute sign is on the wall in the bakery
I was surprised how small the bakery was inside, I thought it looked much larger on television.  Once inside it maybe holds 30 people for standing in line. Normally that line extends outside and around the side of the building.
As luck would have it, we had no line.

Of course we had to get at least one of each.....
The Chocolatier, The Shiplap, The Classic,
Nuts and Bolts and  Strawberries and Cream
Notice one is missing? I might have eaten the toasted coconut one!
All were absolutely delicious!

Nuts and Bolts.... nom nom

This is the cute boxed packaging for the cupcakes
Of course we bought more to take with us for later
The cupcake prices were decent, $3.50 each

They have so many little areas around the Silos for photo ops
this sign is right outside of the bakery where you can sit and nibble away at your treats

This is just another little touch inside the bakery that caught my eye, it's the pick up window, with that cute brick wall and vintage bakery sign

The Shiplap cupcake... vanilla cake with vanilla buttercream icing
did I say how delish they are?!!!!

Stay tuned this week for a few more posts I have to share
Hopefully I won't over post about the trip, but hey,  it was a blast!

Farmhouse Wood Bead Garland

Happy sunday!
I've had a lot of questions as to how to decorate with the wood beads, hopefully these are a few helpful examples for you
Above I just scattered them among my Rae Dunn pottery

In this pic I used a flameless candle that I surrounded with artificial greens and then wrapped the beads around them

Do you have a 3-tiered tray?
They look great draped over them!

How about a mantle,
here I have just nestled them right up against a vase.
They would also look great laid over some books.

I found this one pic online where they used them on their mantle at Christmas,  LOVE this!

These are the two sizes I offer
Just in time for Mother's Day
the smaller vase garland is 2 1/2" wide and fits nicely around your vases, the longer garland 30" can be wrapped, draped or nestled among your decor.
Small garland- $10
Large garland - $15

To purchase either visit my 2340 West Newton page

Beautiful Butterfilies

And spring is finally here!
Have you tried adding some slight color to your embossing folder BEFORE you run it through the Big Shot?
I absolutely love the Layered Leaves 3D embossing folder,
look at how those leaves pop of the paper!

If you look closely you can see the basic gray color ink that I added to the card.
You can do this technique by brayering directly onto the plastic embossing folder and then lay down your cardstock on top of it and fold it over.  Then run it through the Big Shot
Lightly just adds a hint of color.

Go ahead try a new technique this weekend!
Happy friday friends!

Flourish Conference

Hello friends!
It's been a busy last few days
This is my third year being the decor lead for the women's Flourish conference.

It's always such an honor to be able create the decor for this conference.  This year's theme Your Story Matters

Two red headed rebels.

Some of the stage decor
Those are large paper flowers I made for the stage as well as the "Your Story"  signs.

I was very honored to be asked to speak this year on what it looks like to be living as a Motherless Daughter.
There is my sweet mama left on the jumbo tron, she has be gone for 23 years now.  Hard to believe my friends

She's so cute in this picture

Here I am in both these photos looking ever so serious.
I suppose yes,  it was quite serious, all the other panelist
who spoke had most recently lost their Mother's

Sharing with you a little bit of what I talked about on stage...
When we lose our Mothers our core identity passes with them, for a short while.  But during that short while your resolving past conflicts, healing in grief, and reeling with the absence of her nurturing hand.
The legacy of your Mother shifts us,  it defines our present day relationships, it's ongoing, yet beautiful as you recognize and feel her legacy and spirit show throughout your own heart and life everyday.  All the things she showed you, taught you, how she loved you comes through  Every. Single. Day.
And there, there you are left with the love she gave you day in and day out, right there in the depth of your broken heart.
With time the healing comes, and it does come friends.... it's an ongoing personal process.

Farmhouse wood bead garland

I've been busy beading away over here
Been fun filling orders for these super cute beads
Haven't seen them before?
They are natural wood beads for home decor

They can be easily incorporated into your decor whether you have modern decor, rustic, farmhouse, any!
The look great mixed in with other items, or  on your 3 tier trays, or setting on the mantle or draped across the front of the mantle.
The possibilities are endless
I would love to hear how your using yours!

I have two sizes available
one is the long 30" garland and the other has a 2 1/2" opening for you to drape over a vase or anything else that has a small opening to slide it over.

Here's two different ways I have used them,
above draped around a large vase.
Below it fits nicely over the spout of the vase.

The large long garland measuring 30" long is $15
The small one measures 2 1/2" opening is $10
You can purchase them by going to my shop on the home page on my blog under 2340 West Newton
