Birthday Celebration

It's been a full weekend of family time and celebration!

After sooo many month of not seeing each other, we

all came together to celebrate our Dad's milestone birthday.

We ended up with friends of my father's and our extended family

to help celebrate.

Here are all my sisters....

if you are looking for a caterer, they are amazing!

it was all so very good.

Triple Wren Farm

What a fun filled day at Triple Wren Farms

in Ferndale, Wa

My girlfriend Lisa and her Mom invited

me to this gorgeous Dahlia festival

yesterday.

You could walk around the whole farm and view all

the different type of dahlia's blooming so that you can

plan for your dahlia garden next year.

They have QR codes on signs by each flower

so that you can scan the flower and see what it's called.

There were so many flowers and all equally stunning....

This is Lisa and her Mom and her Mom's best friend,

look at that dahlia wall.....

Get ready for a dahlia photo overload!

My very best favorite- "Cafe au lait" 

This one is called;  Bracken Rose 

This is a plum sunflower, so rich in it's hues.

This dinner plate is called Pennhill dark monarch

Always looking for love and it showed up!

Triple Wren Farms 

Target Gumball Machines

Have you seen these cute glass gumball machines at your local Target?

They are in the bull's eye dollar spot and are $3 each.

They can be found in the red above or white.  

I have yet to see the white and was lucky enough to find some

red ones.  So if you see them, grab them!

They go fast!

To paint them I used a plastic grocery bag that I taped

around the top of the gumball machine to cover

the glass part while I spray painted the lower half.

This one I painted snow white and filled it with a

faux cactus.

This one is filled with little cotton balls.

This one is spray painted in a dusty rose,

I added some Easter eggs.

These all can be made to suit any holiday and be

filled with soooo many possibilities!

A Christmas snow globe would be so cute......

And to keep up with my ongoing Halloween

decor this one has little pumpkins inside it.

You can look at your local Target for these gumball machine

or even look online on their site to order.

Gorgeous Leaves

Happy Monday!

Let's take a break from my over posting of Halloween,

the slightest feel of fall in the air and I start thinking 

Halloween.

But today, I am posting a card made with one of the new

sets from the Occasion mini catalog.

It's called Gorgeous Leaves 

I used the Cinnamon Cider ink pad, and crushed curry ink 

to make the leaves.

Calendar Magnets

My last post for you all were the Halloween magnets

I made using the towering tumbling blocks.

The images I used for this craft is a calendar

from the Dollar Tree, on the back of the 

calendar are 12 images in a small sized 2.5"

Each month changes as you can see and the images are 

based on the month.

Start to cut out each and use the Tombow glue to 

attach it to the blocks. 

Here's the calendar, you can see all the 

different images for each month. 

This is the game at the Dollar Tree that you use

to make each square for each magnet.

You can get two sets of 12 magnets with

each game. 

For the next step glue little pieces of wood

together to create the base of the magnet.

Then cut out and start gluing each image onto the

wood piece.

I tried three different bows on the top

of each of these holiday ones.

I can't decide which I like better!

The harvest one just has basic cotton ribbon wrapped

around the wood piece with a small bow on top.

The Thankful one has a basic jute bow

The Christmas one has a small buffalo plaid

bow on top.

All three are cute and easy to do, you just

have to decide which bows! or do them all!

This next set of three is from an entirely different

calendar.  When you go looking for the calendars at

the Dollar Tree look on the back of the calendars,

this is where these little 3" gems are located 

so you can see what each image is.

This is the Farmhouse calendar

with all the cute little trucks.

I thought it would be cute to make three of each magnets and 

package them up to gift away.

Halloween Magnets

Aren't these cute?

They can be made with any type of scrapbook

paper for any occassion, I just happen to use the

new " Cute Halloween" dsp paper.

 To make these head to the Dollar Tree to the kids

toy area and find these "jenga" games.

  They are called

Tumbling Tower Game at the Dollar Tree.

Open them and using a hot glue gun

use a little glue and glue three pieces together

When you cut your paper the square is about

2 7/8".  I cut mine on the paper cutter to get a 

clean cut. 

I like to use Tombow liquid glue to attach

the paper.

This paper is really cute and quite a few different

images you can cut out and add to the magnets.

Everything you see was cut from the paper. 

On the top I added little jute ribbons

and make sure and pick up some round 

magnets at the Dollar Tree too to add

to the back. 

Muuuwaaaaahhh!
