Dressed in White

Here's the cute bride and groom to be!
I was in Bath and Body Works with my Auntie and sister
the other day and they have this new 3 wick candle called
'"dressed in white".   We took one smell of the candle
and we were all hooked!

It's gorgeous!
and truly the smell is amazing, light and floral.
We all bought one as well as one for the bride to be.

Right now they are on sale for $12.95!
Go grab a few!
so pretty all lit up too!

Limewash pillars

Happy monday!
Now that the shower is over we are on to wedding details.
Here's a diy that we are getting started on.
Shae's new FIL to be made these wooden pillars
for her reception and wedding to put floral arrangements on.
They are about 36" high, she primed them all and
brought them to me to limewash.
Limewash is a special paint that dries very quickly,
it's easy to cover a large area quickly.

This is the paint brand I used, Atelier,
it comes in a variety of colors and can be found on Amazon.

You can use a block brush to apply it to your wall or project
by trying it by brushing back and forth or even in circular motion
which is the method I used.  I also used a smaller square brush as I am painting pillars not a wall.

These were really fun to do and quite creative.
It maybe took me 30 minutes to paint all five pillars.
One coat covers nicely, but two coats really adds
the full effect of limewashing.

Didn't they turn out awesome!
You will have to stay tuned for next month when we put them
into action at the wedding!

Brie wedding cheese cakes

Happy saturday!
Check out these brie cheese rounds cakes.
I saw these on pinterest and wanted to try a hand at one for
my daughter's shower.

Mine in no way turned out like these,
but I tried!

I used two different sizes of brie cheese rounds
and the top round is a boursin round.
I cut the rounds in half and added some
strawberry jam to the center.

I added some fresh flowers and
some on top of the cake and
added crackers around the base of the cake.
Mine is quite simple, fun to try and delish to eat!

Flower Bar

Happy fri-yay!
Working my way to sunday, worked on the "flower bar"
today.  Used the chalkboard I had on hand to create the
little sign as well as the cute baskets to fill with the paper
cones for guests to put their flowers in.
Tomorrow I will pick up fresh flowers for the shower for guests
to put into their cones.

The little cones are made with crumb cake cardstock that I rolled into
the cones and added the kids monogram and bows.
I adhered the cones by stapling them.

A friend of the kids designed their monogram which they
have used on their wedding invites and other items.
I bought these stickers on amazon and pressed the monogram into them.

I wish we were going to be having good weather, but
it sadly looks like it will be cloudy and rainy.
The flowers will be the bright spot along with the celebration of the
shower!
Have a great weekend!

Painted champagne bottles

Good morning!
We are all things bridal shower over here!
If you've just joined me, my youngest is getting married the end of June so we are in full swing everything weddings over here between my wedding coordinating job and her beautiful nuptials.
And if you are thinking,  I wonder if Julie is coordinating her daughter's wedding, well, I am not!
As I should not!  so I am getting to enjoy and reap all the fun
while it is being handled by another coordinator!
But the upcoming shower,  I get to host and create beauty for that so here we go!
The bride to be requested these painted champagne bottles,
very on trend for showers of all kinds right now.
I picked up the brand Chandon with the gold
and got out my acrylic paint and brushes.

As intimidating as this my look or seem it is quite fun and easy.
Using a brush you just stroke the paint inward to create the petals and leaves.  I just randomly added them around the bottles.
Luckily I have only 3 to paint.

I painted full white flowers that you see here then turned the bottle and painted half peach flowers in the empty spaces.  The rest of the bottle I filled with sage leaves.  You can't make a mistake as once you apply the paint if you don't like the look take your paper towel and wipe it off and try again.
You can also practice a few flowers on a piece of  paper before you go to the bottle.
I also used a gold ink pen to make the little centers of the flowers.
Aren't they fun?
Would you try this?
