Happy Halloween!

My little honey Bee and Spiderwoman!

Happy Halloween all you ghoulies out there!  It's been a fun day so far!  We went to a Trunk or Treat last night and a local not so scary haunted house, then on to the 'real' deal scary haunted house for teenagers.  Today we went to Remlinger farm with friends and came home to some fun brain carving!

You take a seedless watermelon and skin it with a potatoe peeler, then have the kids take toothpicks and make swirls in the watermelon.  Once that is completed have them take a knife (parents you need to help at this point) and start cutting out the swirls.  When it is all done it looks like a brain!  the cool thing is that the red just barely shows thru and makes it super creepy~!

the girls had a blast doing this!

Have a fun and safe Halloween today!  xoxo

What you have never been BOO-ed for Halloween!  You have to do this with your kiddos!
This is a fun surprise gift that is left on someone's door without them knowing who left it! (Sort of like a May Day basket.) gather a few treats, we put fun Halloween little toys and such in ours, copy the sign below and add it to the treat bag. You then wait for it to get dark and sneak up to their porch set the bag down ring the door bell and run! - don't let them see you!

It is great fun for the kids!    Here's what ours looked like,  we did them for 3 kids.

Halloween Centerpiece

Looking for a quick easy cheap Halloween centerpiece?  Well here it is!  I used a glass vase I had on hand.  Added a battery operated candle inside then lined it with bones and skeleton heads from the dollar tree.  Also bought the gauze, crow and pumpkins there as well.  I draped the gauzed around the crow at the top and let it fall down onto the pumpkins and around them.  I used plastic spiders and placed them all over the gauze.  Very easy!  I know you can do it!  xoxo

Going Batty today....

I am going batty today!  I don't know how but bats are a flyin around here! This card is made with the newsprint DSP and pumpkin pie and basic black, the boo was cut from the big shot, I added the rhinestones and bat with black chunky glitter.

This card is made with all the same papers but I added the stamp fleur de lie from the stamp set From the Crypt.  The black lace trim adds a nice touch as well as the rhinestones and black chunky glitter.

Here another where I used the From the Crypt fleur de lie for the background to make background paper.  Then just punched out the black bat and added some chunky bling glitter.  Easy!

So go a little batty today!  see what you come up with! xoxo

Pumpkin Muffins

These are THE best pumpkin muffins!  Here is the recipe below, let me know what you think!
Pumpkin Muffins
2c.  canned pumpkin
3 c. sugar
1 c. water
1 c canola or vegtable oil
4 eggs
3 1/3 c flour
2 t of baking soda
1 t baking powder
2 T of cinnamon
1/2 t nutmeg
3/4 t ground cloves
1 c of mini chocolate chips

BAKE 350' for 25 minutes for regular size muffins and 10 min for mini muffins

Mix pumpkin, sugar, water, oil and eggs together, add baking soda and powder, nutmeg, cloves, cinnamon. Then slowly add your flour and then finally the chocolate chips.  This recipe will yeild quite a bit of muffins. I usually make two batches of the regular size cupcake tins then also 2 of the small mini tins or you can make two large loaves of bread with it.  Either way you are going to devour them!  I also add a dolap of cream cheese to the tops of some.  Have fun baking!  xoxo

Visit to Molbak's

Wanted to share our little visit to Molbak's last saturday.  The girl's and Dan and I have been going there for years for their live fall on stage production- this year it is Rumplestiltskin.  It is such a good show, you must put it on your list of things to do.  And the best is that it's FREE!  Free is good!  After the show we like to walk around and look at all the beautiful displays and flowers they have.   Here's some pictures of the different displays they had all over.  It was just beautiful!

There was a fog machine attached to this fountain so it was smoking off and on.

How cute is this turkey pumpkin!

Yes!  they already have ALL their Christmas decor up!

Shelby was sooo funny!  She kept picking up all these puppets and making them talk for Shae and Sydnee.  She was a Hoot!

Shaelyn, Shelby and Sydnee

I throughly enjoyed looking at all their diplays and all the fall colors and Christmas ideas.  If you are local and haven't been you've got to make a trip to Molbak's and if you are not local check them out online at Molbaks.com.  Next month is their Poinsettia festival  -  stunning..... xoxo

C.A.S.E in point!

I feel quite honored today!  Kristi over at http://shakaohana.wordpress.com/ featured my Halloween Bottled wine labels so I had to go over and visit her!  Upon my arrival I found some really cool Halloween "julie style" stuff there!  She does a great job posting ideas from various stampers as well as some creative cards she has created herself.  While browsing her blog I found a few things catch my eye that I had to case.  I did not change these up too much cause they are just so stinkin cool looking.  Thank you Kristi for featuring me!  and thank you for the great ideas and also all you others who have inspired me!  xoxo

This card is made with the rich razzleberry and old olive colors.  The dsp is the newsprint.  I embossed the skeleton from the "From the Crypt" set and then bleached out the face to make it super white.  The added bling is the light green rhinestones and the rich razzleberry ribbon.
The treat box is made with the new SU! treat box die in rich razzleberry and covered in the dsp "Newsprint" that has been brayered with old live classic ink.  The saying on top is from the new set Seasonal setiments #121130.  It has been embossed too in black and then bleached out on the inside of the outlined letters which turned it yellow because of the olive cardstock.  Added a bat, "From the Crypt" stamp set and touched it off with rich razzleberry ribbon on the sides.  Fill'er up with treats and your good  to go!

Recipe for this card:
Stamps: Graveyard Gala, Branching Out and Wicked Cool
Ink: Concord Crush, pumpkin pie, delightful daffodil, basic black
Cardstock: Concord Crush, pumpkin pie, and glassy cardstock
