Diy Halloween Gnome

Adulting at the pumpkin patch yesterday.

It was possibly our last rain-less day 

for some time, so it was a great time to get out.

How about a quick diy?

From this below......

To THIS!!!! 

Isn't he cute?!

So what you need is as I show you above;

A pair of socks (you only use one sock)

a wood pumpkin 

(both these items were bought at Dollar Tree)

A round wood bead

White faux fur.

First thing you want to do is remove the little

wood stem at the top of the pumpkin, making sure

you keep the little rafia bow. 

Now take one sock and cut it in half right at the heel.

Taking the top half without the heel, slip it over the wood

pumpkin and tack it down with a little hot glue.

Now glue down your nose (wood bead)

Next step it to cut a triangle about 3 1/2" long from the faux fur

and glue it right up under the nose and the side of the nose.

Add the top part of the sock (the part with the heel)

When you get to the nose add just a little glue to the top 

of the nose and push it down.  Pull the hat down along the 

sides and tack it down with some glue. 

Lastly, untie the rafia bow and retie it around the 

top of the hat and he is complete!

From what I understand some of the Dollar Trees

carry the faux fur, but mine has never have.

I always end up getting mine at Michael's or Joann's

Our Halloween Home Decor

Here comes my favorite time of the year!

The holidays!  all of them!

But, I certainly do love to decorate for Halloween.

You may or may not know something about me,

I used to work in the display department at Nordstroms.

This was years ago when I had just finished college studying 

Graphics Arts and Design.  

I loved my time there, especially when it was time to decorate for 

Christmas.  It was a fun time in my life, but I tend

to get a "little" carried away with decor!

So,  let's get started with some Halloween

decor in my home.

Above is my fireplace where I just added some garland that I have had for quite a few years now.  I purchased them both from Target.

I love to use the gauze you see in the photo and you will see in quite a few more pics.  The bats I hand cut and attached with double sided tape to the mantle. 

You can get the gauze at the Dollar Tree in black, creme and gray.

I have all three and I love how you can drape it around anywhere,

inside of the house or out. 

These are our very steep stairs leading up to our rooms.

The cute little cut out mice are also from the Dollar Tree

You can't not decorate the bathroom, come on!

You can see I used the gray gauze around the window

framing and added some more of the mice and a few

figurines and spiders. 

And what the heck! if your going to decorate the bathroom

then the laundry room is not off limits!

Muuuuuwaaaaahhhh!

This is right above my washer and dryer, you can see I used the creme

gauze on the shelf just by draping it so it's almost falling off.

I tucked some spiders in the gauze, added a candle and little 

Halloween sign. 

Does anyone else love or have 3 tiered trays?

This one is a 2 tier, but holds quite a bit.

Just tuck a bunch of little nick nak halloween items on the tray

and it looks so cute!

I'll move outside now where we have a long driveway

where I skipped every other post and used the black 

gauze and crows and the "Scat Cat" lighted signs

and pumpkins. 

The crows and gauze can be found at Dollar Tree,

the signs I have had for years and purchased from Walmart. 

Here's the crow up close, aren't they cute?

And last but not least, my Subway Art

sign.  I made this soooo many years ago

and just keep recycling it every year whether

it's inside or out. 

I hope I have inspired you in some way to 

decorate for the Halloween season or 

at least Fall.  It's fun to have something

small to look forward to while we are all 

isolated at home.

Paper Pumpkin September 2020-Hello Pumpkin

                         

   The September paper pumpkin is out  and called "Hello Pumpkin"

Take a quick look at the video on how to put together your kit as well as see how much comes in the kits when you receive them.

As I always do,  I of course made an alternative card for each of the pieces in the kit.   Take a look......

Using white cardstock, cut yourself a standard

sized card and using the cute cut outs in the kit

Put them together on the cards.

You can see how I did mine with the kit!  

The kit has dimensional glue dots which pops up any

images.  I used them on the back of the pumpkins

to make them pop.

Using a ruler and a black stampin write marker

I lined the card with the black marker and stamped the

"hello pumpkin" off to the right. 

The pumpkin is glue right onto the card and the which's

hat I popped up with the stampin dimensionals

In the kit you will also receive a stamp set.

The cute brooms are in this set.

I stamped them in black and glued the mini pumpkin right on

top of the brooms.

Bat Clips

I've gone batty over here!

I made these little clips for the Boo bags

I made this past weekend.

All you need are some mini wooden clips

some black cardstock and some glue and a bat punch.

Punch out your bats and then using the glue put 

some onto the wood clip and then them and let dry.

When they are dry you can attach then to just about

anything you want for halloween or even a birthday party.

I mean,  how cute is this!

Super easy to make I promise!

Hello my friends!

Did you know that you can print right onto paper bags?

While I love to stamp many type of things, I also love

the idea of using my printer for many projects.

It stretches me and challenges me to try new things.

There are many free printables for brown paper bags

online.  One source to find them is through Pinterest.

You can just type in the google search bar

any type of holiday or celebration.  

From there you choose your image to download

Then you just load your paper bags into your

printer tray making sure you adjust the sides.

Also be sure you load your paper bag the right way so that 

it will print the proper way and side of the bag.

I filled these up for my creative class I had this week.

I have been hosting just 4 women, me being the 5 th

and holding an outdoor class very distanced and safe.

This was their goodie bag when they left.

Split Wood bead fall wreath

Happy monday~

I shared last week a split wood bead wreath I made in all creme colors.

Today I am back with a more traditional style wreath for the front door.

I found a bouquet of fall flowers at Joann's store, they had

them 60% off making my flower bouquet all of $2.99!

Isn't this Halloween door mat adorable?

I found it too at Joann's for $6.00!

Here is the wreath up close. 

I kept it the same as the original one and just

added the fall colors using a glue gun.

This is the cute cement pumpkin I showed you how 

to make last week!

Supplies you will need for the wreath:

Wood wreath ring 16"  (Joann's)

Split wood beads (16 total)

Elmer's waterproof glue

(you want waterproof glue in the event you hang it outdoors,

if you use a glue gun the wood beads will pop off in certain climates)

The waterproof glue will keep all the items attached to the wreath

secure.

Choose any fall flowers.

These split wood beads are a nice size, you want to get the 2" diameter ones for this wreath. 

It's hard to tell in the photo but this is a good size wreath.

Staring anywhere on the wood form by putting the 

glue directly onto the form then attach the split wood

bead, use all 16 which will cover the majority of the wood

form.  

With the rest of the wreath you will add your flowers.

Plan it out on your counter before you attach to the form

that way you can get an idea how it will look.

Now start by either hot gluing or use some floral wire to attach

the flowers whichever you prefer.

I chose the wire so that I can change up the wreath easily for any holiday.

Well, it's back!

Gnome for the holidays stamp set!

Only this time showing you how to use this set for halloween.

To make this card you need to stamp the gnome separately

onto the color of card stock that you want to cover over the image.

It would be like dressing paper dolls.  Does this make sense?

Piece each gnomes outfit together and glue it directly onto the 

image.  When your finished you will use dimensionals to adhere

them to the card. 

For the rest of the gnome I used a blender pen to watercolor

the colors in.  

This set is versatile if you can look beyond it just being for Christmas.

Always fun to challenge yourself and see what other holidays or events you can use your stamp sets for.
