Father's day pull pop up card

Are you ready for a fun Father's day card idea?

This is a pull pop up card. 

I promise,  easy to do.

I would suggest using a card stock that is light in weight,

the heavier the card stock the harder it will be to fold it. 

Choose a color of card stock sized at 8 1/2" x 11" and fold

it in half the long way. 

Then turn the paper around and fold the corners in. 

Now fold the sides in and the tops in. 

Turn the paper over and stamp your images onto your card stock. 

Now pull down the triangle side and hand write

"pull" onto the bottom portion.   Fold the card stock into three's.

Fold the top portion down, then take the bottom triangle 

and fold it into the top, you should now see the word you wrote

"pull"

Like this, tuck in on both sides 

Once it's folded together it looks like the above.

I added the stamped shield to the top.

Once given, the recipient will pull to 

open the card. 

So easy I promise!

Here's a random card I created for a girlfriend

who reached GOLD in her business.

One of her best friends threw a surprise

party to honor her accomplishment.

I wanted to make her a special gold card

to celebrate her.  

I googled gold crowns and found this image that I printed

out and cut out adding some gold glitter to the tops of the crown. 

The card base is made with white card stock and layered with gold polka dotted vellum paper. 

I've been making quite a bit of the wax seals and have found how after you stamp them you can take a gold pen and color over the image as you see I have done with the flower above.   So fun!

And here she is our "golden girl"!

Sweet Strawberry

Since June is strawberry month it seemed appropriate

for a strawberry card,  I saw one online and thought

it was so adorable. 

Keeping it fresh and sweet. 

The strawberries are stamped in black ink and then water colored

light to dark to the edges. Then cut them out and placed

them around the card. 

Now, i'm going to head out and pick some strawberries!

Peony season!

It's peony season!

Bringing some beauty to your feed today with some pics of

peonies that I grow.  I have about 10 peony bushes and they all 

produce so well.  Are you interested in planting them?

If so,  there are so many varieties to choose from.

I have the light pink ones, the raspberry ones and the anemones

ones which are the white with the yellow center.  

Peonies are some of my favorite blooms and are at their best for a very short time only blooming between April and June. 

It's best to cut them when they are in bud form. 

They may take a couple of days to open and if you find they don't open in a few days, you might find that the peony heads may have sap on them preventing them from opening.  To give them a little help, take the peony from the bouquet and hold the head under the tap of room temperature water to wash away the sap.

I like to mix my bouquets up and also cut some variegated

Hostas to add to the inside of the vase to add some color

and design to the vase. 

This arrangement has the Japanese peony anemone

which has the white with slight pink and yellow in the center.

There are 33 varieties of peonies and different shades of pinks.

Exploring In Color: May 2023 Paper Pumpkin

                        

Say hello to the most gorgeous colors in our Paper Pumpkin history!

                         Well,  that's my opinion anyways! 

This month's kit is beyond stunning in rich color and design's.  Geared towards Father's day cards and masculine cards, they do not disappoint.

There is also an add on kit you can purchase that just has all the cards in it.  Either kit is well worth it.

I have seen a lot of people adding stickers

to their water bottles of all things.  

Pretty cute huh?

Aloha friends and happy saturday!

No,  I am not in Hawaii but wish I were.

Bringing a little aloha saturday to you with today's card.  

Start with a piece of vellum paper and cut yourself out a 2 3/4" circle. 

Choose what color base cardstock you would like.  

I chose a natural white.

Lay the vellum over the top of the cardstock centered

and prepare your stamp with ink.  I used Soft Suede.

The background stamp I am using is called Woodgrain,

you can use any type background I just like the look of the wood. 

The reason for using the vellum paper is when you go to stamp over

the circle it enables you to get a clean image.  If you were to use

regular cardstock then the image wouldn't be clean against the paper.  

Once the circle is stamped grab a brown ink pad 

(I used soft suede) and grab an aqua painter.

and start to shade the woodgrain. 

I stamped the flowers three times and cut them out, 

also the leaves.   Use some dimensionals to pop

the flowers up.   I added some rhinestones to the center. 

I also used the aqua painter on the center

in daffodil delight.  

Add a little shading to the underside of the flowers,

And there you have a little bit of Aloha!
