Halloween Elastic hair bands and Video

Hi all!  today I have a little helper my Daughter Shaelyn, who felt we had to make you a video on how to make these super easy Hair Bands.  With two girls in the house who love these bands, it only made sense to find the elastic online and try and make some.  Of course, my mind goes right to Halloween hair bands, so here is what I came up with......

the first one is just a piece of 3 x 4' inch cardboard covered with our Howlstooth and Scaringbone designer series paper, the second design is one of those Ikea jars filled with the hair bands and topped with a rossette stamped with a cute pumpkin from the Spooky Bingo Bits set

There have been lots of emails where I ordered these here it is....

Ribbon Ghost Video

Okay, no laughing here,  as I promised, here is the Ribbon Ghost Video for you.  As you can see I had a little "minor" accident with my thumb.  Hope you have fun trying this!  Smiles,   Julie

                             SEE RIBBON GHOST CARD BELOW

Ribbon Ghost

I feel like just making Halloween card right now!  I'm such a dork!  I saw this cute ghost on  Pinterest and wanted to try him out.  It is a great way to use up your scrap ribbon and also showcase this at your classes. There are just 5 strips of white ribbon that I cut the bottom with the angle.  I used our new sticky rounds,  I cut just a tiny corner of the circle off then starting to layer the ribbon.  Cut around the head and put a bow on top.  I will post a video tomorrow evening on how to do this for you.  Check back....... Isn't it cute!

Ronald McDonald House

Making a Difference... monday I held my Kid's Stamp Camp and decided I would have them stamp cards using our new Ronald McDonald house  stamp set.  It's called Moving Forward.  Each year Stampin Up! showcases a new stamp set that they design especially for this cause.  Ronald McDonald House Charities help support families with children wio have serious illnesses.  Each stamp set purchased Stampin Up! donates $3.00 to the houses!  That's amazing!
Each month I visit our local house and get an opportunity to stamp with these amazing children.

I found these cute cards on Stamin Connection and decided  that  this is what they would stamp.  The made  two of each cards and then put them in the clear card boxes, we wrapped them with the belly bands and then used the Ronald McDonald House logo for the front.   After we were all done, I had them stamp the cards below to take to the house for the families to use.   Julie Gunhus traded these at convention and I just LOVED the colors! thanks Julie!

You can order your Ronald McDonald House Moving Forward stamp set too!
 Moving Forward  wood mounted #126320 - $19.95 or clear mounted #126322 - $14.95

Back from Cle Elum

I just returned from a few days over in Cle Elum where the  massive fire is.   It  still is only 40% contained.  I was at Base Camp the last two days where the Firefighters are  staying,  it is overwhelming to say the least.  There are over 1000 Firefighters serving the community.  These signs are everywhere on their journey back each day from fighting the fires. The amount of support is unreal.  Upon speaking to those at the camp, the Firefighters are teary eyed just seeing all this support.  I delivered a trailer full of water, gatorade and power bars to them. Seeing the piles of donations, I was thinking to myself they had received  "a lot" of donations, only to find out that it will diminish  quite quickly.
When I went by last night, a crew of Firefighters had just arrived from a full day fighting the fire.  When they got out of the trucks I had to hold back tears, they were exhausted, covered in soot, and I'm sure overheated.   The temperatures are in the high 90's......  check the pics below to see the base camp

These signs are everywhere supporting the Firefighters.....

This is base camp for the Firefighters, this is only a fourth of the tents.  Base camp is at the local elementary/middle school.

You can see the haze in the background from the fires.  The support of this community is amazing.  I love this place, it is so near and dear to my heart.  Please keep the this community and  the Firefighters in your prayers please...

Cle Elum Fire

We have had a horrible fire break out in our Kittitas county area of Cle Elum, 27,00.00 acres have been consumed so far and the fire is only 10% contained after it's breakout on monday.
Up to 70 homes have burned while hundreds of other buildings have been destroyed.
At least 900 people have evacuated and 500 firefighters are working to douse the flames.  As many as 800 firefighters could be in the area in the next few days.
Please pray for this community and our Firefighters... we need a lots of assistance there. If you are local or in the Cle Elum area they are in need of donations to the Red Cross as well as donations for the Firefighters.  For the Firefighters they need Power Bars, Gatorade and Water.  It can be dropped off at the Sahaptin Outfitters right in downtown Cle Elum.
Donations to the Red Cross can be made HERE

American Girl Doll Camp Pictures

Kanani and Marlena after Kanani gets her ears pierced
Here's a few pictures from the American Girl Doll Camp I held last week,  I had such a great group of little girls!  We learned the history of a new doll and her personality and trivia facts each day, made fun things for their dolls, pierced a few of the dolls ears, had a fashion show and tea party and shared a lot of laughs!  It was by far the funniest week! Such sweet little spirits......

Grace,Gracie, Kirsten, Kanani after sushi and vintage straw and ice cream shake crafting

This was one of the crafts they did one of the days, they made sushi  and Ice Cream Shakes for their dolls.  The sushi is made with felt and black electrical tape, the plate is a piece of white foam and the chop sticks are toothpicks.

We even pierced two of the dolls ears,  Grace and  Kathy  (Look -alikes) got  new earrings!
Big smiles after Grace gets her ears pierced!
Friday we dressed up for our Tea Party and Fashion Show,  Lindsey  and I dressed up in our  favorite doll Julie's  clothing attire for her timeline which is 1977,  Lindsey is holding her AG doll Julie and was dressed in the cutest home sewn 70's little outfit I have ever seen!  She surprised me with a gift of my own, my favorite doll  Julie!  How sweet was that!  I love my Julie doll!  Thank you again Lindsey!  Thank all you girlies for such a fun week!
