Easter Bowl Style

Hello friends!
If you missed my last post it was chalked full of ideas to
style a Easter "dough bowl" which I don't own.
So you improvise when you don't have something!
I used a basket that I had on hand and filled it up.
See inside of the basket is a very small wood bowl.

I've added what I have on hand.  Some ceramic eggs, in a wood
bowl, wood beads, a little plant, a moss bunny, some fabric
carrots and the terra cotta bunny pot.
Look around and see what you have before running out to
by more!  You'd be amazed at what you'll find that you've put away.

Up close so you can see.
If you are wondering where I might have gotten these cute
ceramic black and white eggs, I found the large and small ones at Homegoods.  The fabric carrots too.  But, I did get them some time ago, but I have seen the fabric carrots there this year.

I received this cute white ceramic egg vase last year from my dear friend Carol who I met through my blog, who just recently passed.
This egg reminds me of her and brings me happy tears looking at it.
I put some of the little ceramic eggs in it with some paper filling.

And another peek at the bunny in a bowl I posted weeks back
in case you missed it....
just a few ideas for Easter decor for you.

Easter dough bowl ideas

So I love dough bowls, but I don't have one.
Do you?
I went looking for ideas on how to decorate them for Easter and thought I would share them.
And although I don't have one at the end of this post you will see
how I improvised to "make" one.
The first one above is so dreamy.....
This one has a bunny as the focal point in the center and then fresh greens were just placed all through the sides.  I am sure they used floral blocks to push the greens into.

This one is so bright and cheery.  Two little 4" pots of
mini daffodils with scattered moss balls surrounding them.

This trend is so popular right now.  Any bowl whether it's
glass, wood bowl, ceramic etc. then just fill with moss.

This one too has greens, it looks like a mini wreath and some moss
balls and a small sweet bird nest with eggs.
You can find faux bird nests at your craft stores.

and this.... all out simplicity... white tulips and the bowl.

A bit more involved but still gorgeous.
Two candles in the center, greens and flowers
with some eggs tucked in the arrangement.

Another simply minimalist look,
pastel eggs, you could do this with plastic eggs
too.  This color choice is so soft.

Stayed tuned for my "dough bowl" styled
in my upcoming post.......
I hope you've been inspired to try and style a bowl of some sort!

Your Creations!

Happy Saturday!
You know I LOVE receiving your creations.
Marcie, thank you for sending me your adorable
terra cotta bunny pot!
I love how she styled her tray and look at the twine with beads tied
around her pots!
Super cute!

Look how many she made!
I'm not sure what she is doing with them all,
but wouldn't they be cute at everyone's plate for Easter!?

If you missed my post here is the one
I posted back a few weeks ago.
Mine is fairly simplistic, but I sure love
the idea of the twine and beads that Marcie attached.

Here is the post on how to make these cuties

Nashville

Nashville or bust!
We spent the last 5 days on a family vaca in Nashville
celebrating our daugther Shae's 21st birthday with friends
and her boyfriends family.
It was a whirlwind of fun visiting all the sites and taking in
Broadway streets Honky Tonks.

Here we are, all the girls down at the Gulch taking in all the amazing food
(we ate at Biscuit Love) and visited all the wall murals.

Beautiful downtown Nashville and the Chattanooga river.

St. Patrick's day with the Nashville crew at the Honky Tonks.

We rented from the company "The Big Green Tractor"
where they take you on a two hour tour of the city
while you dance and drink.
This was Shae's 21st celebration night.

Happy to be 21!
Down at 12 South visiting vintage pop up shops,
coffee at Frothy Monkey and food at Butter Milk Ranch
then you have to follow up with 5 Daughter's Bakery for infused Donuts.
Such a fun time away with friends and family,
so much to take in to see in Nashville and so many options.
Ya'll need to visit!

Swag bag ideas

I've working on some welcoming bags for
our daughter's 21st celebration this weekend.
I complied a bunch of fun things for the bags
that include things for a "Hangover"
or as I call it a "recovery" bag.

Some items and ideas I picked up are;
a facial mask, mints, bandaids, gum, emergenc,
hair bands, kleenex, facial wipes and socks.

Most of these items were bought at Target or (of course)
the Dollar Tree.
When I hold craft weekend's or girl's weekend's I love
to do "swag" bags for everyone's beds so that when they
arrive they have a little something to enjoy on their
getaway.
I also did up some swag bags for the guys which
included slim jim snacks, soaps, socks and chapstick.

I made up these cute little tags to attach to the swag bags.
Now for the fun to begin!
Here we go!!!

Finally 21!

Finally 21!
The youngest is turning 21 today and we have been celebrating
all weekend.  I mean come on, who wants their 21st birthday to fall on a monday?    But reality of life is, it is.  So we are celebrating Shae
today.   I decorated out chalkboard for her friday before she came home and also made some other signs for her as well.
We've always celebrated the girls by putting out old photos from
when there were little.  She got a kick out of seeing them all.

After months of not seeing family we all got together to
celebrate the first quarter of the year's birthdays.
There were quite a few!
My sister had these cute cookies made for Shae from
Valerie's Custom Cookies out of Sumner, Wa.
Aren't they just adorable?

They even tasted delish!
We have some surprises planned for her tonight,
so we will see how she makes it through the day
being 21~
Let the fun begin~

St. Paddy's day treats

Get ready for some "tom-foolery"!
Here comes St. Paddy's day!
We love to celebrate St. Paddy's day and even though it looks like I might be Irish with my red hair, I am actually Scottish, my husband
is part Irish.  So we run with the Irish traditions over here!

I found these cute free printables HERE
that you can print out and decorate.

We have a local candy store called See's candy
that carry these adorable foiled shamrocks that
I picked up.  I also used gold glitter stickles to
make a little gold hearts and dots around the heart with.

The end of the Stickles bottle the point is fine enough to
draw the heart and fill it in, pretty easy to do.

Then using double sided tape attach the shamrock.
If you don't have a See's you could easily attach a gold
rolo or gold coin or those rainbow jelly candies in a baggie with the tag.

Getting ready to paint the town and house green!
Have a fun weekend!

St Paddy's day idea

My women's group got together this morning after
mot being together since November.
To kick it off we celebrated with everything green a week
early for St' Paddy's day.
One of the things that I picked up for our brunch was
this delicious french soda water my girlfriend turned me on to.

It's so pretty and can be found at Cost Plus,
the flavor is Strawberry Basil and it tastes so good!

I thought it would be fun to have at the brunch so I added
one drop of green food coloring and gave it a shake.

Here's the label up close, runs $4.99 a bottle.
So pretty in green too!
I will use the second bottle for my St Paddy's day
dinner I make next week.
Do you do a St Paddy's day dinner?
I usually cook corn beef/cabbage
carrots and potatoes.  All the works.
If you have littles you can add some green
food coloring to their milk or water
or even apple juice.
Got to celebrate all the things!
