Fall Gnome wreath

Happy tuesday!
What a great Thanksgiving weekend!
The weekend prior we had a girlfriend's weekend away
where we made some cute crafts and this was one of the crafts we made.

One of the gals sent me this picture of her front porch with her gnome
on her door.
How did we make these you say?
Well, I started off buying these halloween witches hats at the dollar tree.  After Halloween they were marked down to 50 cents each.
Such a steal!

We started by cutting off the black covering
making sure you get it all off the cage of the hat.

It will look like the one below once you clean it off,
it does come off easily.
You will need some burlap, I found a roll at Walmart
for $7.99.  You lay the cage over the burlap to cut enough
to cover it.  Use a glue gun to adhere the burlap together.

Make sure before you cover the cage to cut away the lowing half
of the hat, it's not needed.

I just used some wire cutters to cut it away.
Like you see here.

Now take four leaves picks and start to glue
them from the back to create the beard of the gnome.
To make the nose you will purchase a small styrofoam
ball that you will cover with a flesh colored
nylon or ped.
As you wrap your hat around the cage adhere it hot glue,
you can add nose just under the hat to complete his face.

You can add some leaves or twine to the hat to finish it off.
There you go! Isn't he a cutie!
